Placeholder Job : SECF, Submarine Electronics Computer Fields
Goal: SO Contract(aka Special Operator) Current PST scores 848/76/86/17/921
Reason: People Told me i wouldn't amount to anything good or even great. Being an SO would show them and my self that I do have what it takes and my life isn't meaningless because upon completion, I would be doing what 99% of the US wouldn't be able to do.

I really wanna know about bodybuilding and military. Cause i want to join royal marines and that obviously needs a lot of endurance, which can limit the muscles you build. Is that right?

It's a give and Take kind of thing. A lot of military stuff here in the US at least measure you in Pushups, Situps, Pullups for strength, but that stuff is outweighed by the Swimming and Running factors. So you can try and pack on muscle before you join, but the only falter would be in my honest opinion is that you have all that extra muscle to carry around that say a 145 lb guy has to carry around while running.

One of my Mentors, a Senior Chief in the US Navy as a Spec Ops Diver, says he is around 225 and with full gear on he weighed in at over 315 lbs. With Full ammo, Armor and ruck sack. Think of how much slower you would be if you had all that extra muscle and equipment and had to run 10 miles.

It's a give and take. Get to a weight that you are satisfied with. i.e for me, max weight I am allowed to be is 186. I would be ok with 175.

Great amount of Strength or Great Numbers in your run, swim, pushups, situps and pullups?
A lot of stuff in training is bodyweight. And you might be carrying more weight than others.

once again.. this is my take on it.

I was 173, but then i dropped down to 165 so i could run faster and it cut over 40 seconds off my 1.5 mile run.

Yeah, i see. The minimum for royal marines is 143.3, meaning i have to gain more weight anyway. So if i bulk over 154 then cut to 154 roughly, losing bf%. So even if there is that extra weight it would be muscle not fat. How does that sound?

imho look at the MAX and bulk up to the max with 12-14% bf. Then cut down to 8-10% and you should be about what like 10 or 15 lbs under the max. That imho is where you might want to be.

Yeah, thing is you gotta keep in mind my height. For military they would use the BMI and expect you to be within the healthy range.
Thanks for the help though, repped.

Yeah I understand that, my eyes are just BARELY passing, and I'm color blind which you can't be, but thinking I could still get in. The only thing about the physical tests is the swimming, I suck at it. I really need to work on that whether I become a PJ or not.
