I have neglected my abs as usually I train them via squat/DL but I can't do any lifts that involve weighted knee flexion due to a meniscal cartilage tear.
What can I do to build up my abs? My lower back/hip flexors are paying the price. I'm looking for something that will make them strong as hell, I don't care too much about size although that would be a bonus.

I stick to heavy machine crunches, various cable twists, weighted swiss ball crunches, and DB or KB side bends.

I'm guilty of that sh*t too, waiting for somebody to powder my nuts cuz I did 20 reps of whatever the **** on the bench. Big f*king deal. It is all relative." G Diesel

weighted planks = king. Get two benches, the dip belt, and a 25lbs plate and go to town.

All in all, great ideas guys. I will have to explore them all.
Are there any holds you can do while just standing up and going about your business during the day? I practise glute activation by just squeezing as hard as I can when I'm just standing waiting for something and it's working wonders but I can't quite get the feel of this for the abs.Perfect 2 Min Shave W/ Just Water - forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=149862193
