What 3 long term adaptations to the cardio-respiratory system would you expect

If someone that hasnt exercised for years, decided to undertake a training plan consisting of anaerobic/aerobic activities ?.

State your 3, and feel free to explain WHY these adaptations happen:

    ----------------------------

    Reps for good replies.

I like the look of cardiac output, blood volume, tidal volume. But, finding information supporting long term adaptations is proving difficult to come across. I think its taking a bit of getting my head around, responding to exercise and adapting. Cardiac output obviously increases during exercise, but how does it adapt to become more efficient in the long term. Its difficult to explain one adaptation, without discussing loads of other ****.

we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
    we shall fight in the hills;
    we shall never surrender

I am a little confused by the question - you are looking for the short term adaptions of a detrained individual if they were to started a mixed training program?

Basically in a nutshell if someone started training what long term adaptations would you expect to the cardio-respiratory system.

Strong comprehension.. He is obviously asking What 3 long term adaptations to the cardio-respiratory system [you would] expect

I wrote an essay on this in school. Best answer is that everybody is different. It's all mental, and it depends on how much heart you put into it.

Strong comprehension, stronger understand on the subject. Everyone is not different. Physiological changes over x ranges of time(early, mid range, long term) are the same(relative to the individual) provided the stimulus is the same. It's called the SAID principle.

Title: What 3 long term adaptations to the cardio-respiratory system would you expect (long term)

Post: If someone that hasnt exercised for years, decided to undertake a training plan consisting of anaerobic/aerobic activities ?. (meaning starting up from detrained, thus short term).

Asking 2 different things in title and body.

OP your title conflicts with your post - the long term changes 8-12-18-24 months will be different than someone who starts a program. So do you want short term as in starting, or LONG term as in not detrained.

They will adapt easier to any previous training, how much will be dependent on how much they trained.
