It was always fun at our previous gym to see the older folk come in rocking the 80's.
Current gym has a great ownership group that has hired good trainers. They are producing some great lifters and thus very little sillyness...other than the men tripping over themselves to check out the ladies. We have a few exhibitionists...shorty shorts and no undies doing SLDL...not much left to the imagination. Ohh, how the boys flock, and trip, and bump into equipment!Journal- One of the Ogres

Oh, where to start.... tonight was shadow-boxing between sets night (compliments of the fight on TV earlier, I presume) so lots of lullz had.
Saw a four-plate barbell set up on the oly platform and was excited to witness who was going to try to pull that one off... two guys lined up together and tandem deadlifted! Google tells me this is indeed a thing but I had never seen it so it was pretty entertaining.
There's also a girl who comes in, turns on the treadmill, runs for about 20 seconds, jumps off (leaving the treadmill running), throws herself on the floor and flings her torso up and down in a momentum-driven version of what looks intended to be sit-ups, jumps up, goes across the gym to get water (treadmill still going), comes back about three minutes later, rinse and repeat.
Tai chi (?) guy who punches the air and waves his arms while running. Good luck if the only treadmill left is next to him.
The two small guys whose routine is: preacher curl-barbell curl-dumbell curl erry day, and who treat all curling as a team sport. Brb 90-lb preacher curl when they probably don't even weigh that much - each gets more work when it's his turn spotting than curling. And they wear skinny jeans. Skinny. jeans.
Then there is the girl who comes in only at peak hours, wearing a white spandex backless, low-cut one-piece jumpsuit with flowers on it, and her ass is is not the one she was born with if you nomsaiyan. She does things like v-sits on the seated calf raise machine and bent row-pulldown-? things using the tri pulldown. I wish I was making any part of this up.training log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=153696161&page=51

There's these 6 kids that workout at my gym....18-20year olds.
In 2 years, I haven't seen them do any leg work, only chest, back, bi's and tri's...
Usually ********ing/texting/talking on the phone while hogging machines.
Benching 100kg's, with 3 spotters, holding the bar...all the way up...and all the way down.Brick by brick

When I see people doing stupid things, it usually makes me frustrated or worried that they'll hurt themselves rather than merely amused.
That said, I'm probably the source of others' laughter much of the time.
I know how stupid hanging wipers look, but they're great (and admittedly, pretty fun). It's even better when my phone - which I use to listen to music - falls out during said wipers, and clatters to the floor. Battery door pops off, battery comes flying out, **** is just everywhere, man. I say "**** it" and finish up my set, then pick up the pieces of my blackberry as everyone watches me.
My gym is part of a racquet club, so weight lifting takes a back seat to other sports. Being one of the few people that lifts heavy, I'm sure the other members find my grunting to be somewhere in between amusing and annoying.

I honestly think it is the most hilarious thing in the world when women wear white to the gym. Especially white spandex shorts with no underwear while they are all sweaty and doing scissor kicks on the floor mat. So... effing.. funny. And I know I shouldn't laugh, and I should probably tell them the entire gym can see their chocolate starfish. But it is so entertaining that I can't. My favourite thing to do at a time like that is watch the rest of the people in the gym and wait for them to notice.

There is this out of shape guy in my gym who walks around in short short and vest and acts like he has a phenomenal physique. He goes around telling people how to train (even though their form, physiques and training is much much better than his) and even tries to PT one of his friends by making up random exercises. BRB superman curls with dumbbells (instead of cables) then straight into one leg hopping on the spot.
