    Warm ups before lifting?

Wouldn't warming up make your arms too tired to finish your workout? Also how should I warm up?
I am proud to say I've lost 95lbs in a year.

Define what warming up means to you.

I stretch thoroughly, and do 1 light warmup set for each muscle I'm hitting before I start going hard at it and that works well for me.

No it will help you avoid injury and help you work the muscle better.

I find I can actually lift heavier after a few warm up sets.

Ie if I'm lifting 80lbs flat db press for 6 reps ill start with 40 for 8-10, go to 50 for 6-8, go to 60 for 6 then wait a bit longer and do my working set.

When I move to incline I might do one warm up set with light weight then the following chest exercises I won't warm up bc im already warm.

Every time you do a different muscle group that hasn't been hit, it's important to warm up.

I always warmup and if I don't I feel icant do as much weight and volume that day. I stretch before taking off to gym (takes about 10-15min) almost everybody part. Don't do "static" holds (I think) which us holding stretched position for 15+seconds, I just hold for maybe 5-10 seconds to get a good stretch. That's like a warmup in Itself lol. The let's say chest day, I go and do bench first, for warmup I do the bar 8-10, and then a plate(45) on each for 8.-10, and then my 3 sets of a 45 and 30 on each side. Then continue my chest day I like this way, but depends on person. Some ppl work better wit a warmup others don't. Try it out and see how it feels

So basically start with doing half of your normal weight then work yourself up?

A warm up should not be strenuous. A good warm up gets some blood into the muscles and warm up your joints. Depending on how you warm up it can also be used to get your central nervous system ready for lifting heavy weight.

A good warm up can prevent injury, allow a greater range of motion during exercise and a lot of the time you will find performance will be increased.

Warming up is subjective, some people only need a set or two before they begin their working sets where as others may need to stretch for 10-15 minutes before completing multiple warm up sets. Listen to your body.

I stretch everything then do all of the main exersizes (Bench, DL, Squats, Curls etc.) with a 10kg barbell, 10 reps for each really slowly. If that tires you out too much to do a workout then i dunno what youre doing in the gym.. i find that is enough to get my muscles warmed up. Worked out 6 times a week for last year and a half, never been injured (not by working out anyway).

Aslo before heavy compound lifts i do one set, half weight and double reps to get ready.
    I used to lift
Now I get triggered by people's poor form while they lift heavier weights than I can

I do a warmup with leg swings and just loosening up the whole body. Then I'll do warm up sets depending on the lift. But I do lift in a cold garage lol

just do 50% weight 15 reps, and 75% 12 reps, then hit the muscles hard.
