I also have ectomorph genetics (but only 5.11") and currently eating around 3.5k calories a day and struggle to gain weight. slowly working my way up to 4k now.
I started at 6'3 147 lbs now after about a year and a half I'm at 194 lbs. It's possible just eat a lot and stick with it. Also I'm not even close to my goals... Someday I'll be 230 and hyooooge
Just really concentrating on my legs now a lot, cause they are very small. I am around 14 % bf atm ( just my estimate, may be wrong ). Bulking up.
Stats: 6ft 1, 141 lbs
Why on Earth do I weigh so little? My upper body does not look that small. My waist is 26.5-27 inches, thighs are only 19 inches atm. I tend to wear Small/Medium clothes, and Small Trousers. small frame?

you are 168 pounds though ) I wish I could see that 168 lbs on my scales.
Just found a thread here on bb.com. This guy is also 140-142 lbs. But how come? I look fa bigger than him, when comparing myself and him. he is the same height.
In my current condition, do you think gaining 1 lbs a week is a good goal ?
No.
You are setting up yourself for failure, disappointment and demotivation if you play the numbers game. This is too rigid a goal.
If you want to get rid of belly fat, use the fit of your pants around your waist as a gauge. Don't look for quick results.
Also, feel free to experiment with advice on working out, but your body is different from everyone else's. You have to learn what YOUR body needs. The art is listening to it.
Dude you are 20. The potential is there you are still growing.
At 20 I was same as you. I gained 10 to 20 lbs each decade to end up at 240 at 50. Your motobolism is high now you have height which creates long lines and muscle growth and progress seem slow.
You body is burning calories as fast as you eat them. Growth is directly related to hard work and muscle breakdown and nutrition needs To rebuild you have to find that point for your body and motobolism eat too much and the wrong foods you will get fat. Don't eat enough and you will not have energy I lift max and spark growth. I would concentrate on building strength the mass will follow shortly you most definitely have potential you have to experiment and find what your body needs are
yes you have potential. I had basically the same stats as you 2 years ago and im 193 now and only added 5-6% bodyfat, and im sure i couldve done it in shorter than 2 years if i knew what I was doing in the beginning
