    Squats

    For strength, has anyone ever heard of the guys who will do like 2 sets of heavy squats, even on chest/tri or back/bi day? Like 2 sets of 3 at end of workout? If so, does it work for them? Been considering doing this for some strength gains on squat.

    i've heard that it works but I have never tried it myself.
    Bench-285 lbs -- 130 kg
    Squat-335 lbs -- 152 kg
    Deadlift-405 lbs -- 184 kg
    OH Press-170 lbs -- 77 kg

    End of year goal: 185 lbs, 10%

    depends what your squat is mate, people who squat high ass numbers work better on intensity based work outs, like monday - heavy , wednesday medium, friday light, rest and repeat.

    squatting often is totally fine but if you squat at literally 5 rep max intensity all day erryday, you wont progress that well, but if you squat like low numbers mate go for it.

    pretty sure front squats focus more on quads then back squats only difference really, you usually can hit greater depth easier with front squats too man.

    The strength and conditioning coach for my track team has us squat three times a week, pretty heavy each time.

    edit: He was an Olympic powerlifter too.

    I tried doing the few very low rep low set squatting yesterday after chest/tricep workout. Liked it a lot. No / not much soreness because of the lowish volume to.

    Squat 2x a week personally. Went from 135 barely parallel to 225 below parallel in about 2 months. 5x5 all day but occasionally ill do a heavier set of 3 or 2 just cause.
