Flood is taken care of, found out why the water backed up into the house and fixed the problem so it's been seeping back out. Carpet wasn't bad, just pulled it back and hit it with fans to dry the pad. Water heater was replaced on Monday so I only went a few days without hot water. It seems like I'm just going to be 181 forever (dam you Izzy) so I'll just be the most yolked out bodybuilder-181 ever. Or you could give me an adipose tissue transplant, I think having the stored calories would really help me out, haha.

edit: Every single one of you in here is on spread right now, so I've gotta start trolling the misc and handing out negs until I can hit you guys back.

    Triple post:

So I got some of this.

    http://www.amazon.com/DMSO-Gel-90%25...&keywords=dmso

It's surprisingly been helping a bit. Here's the rundown.

Got it on Friday, opened up a tub and gave it a sniff. Near odorless as it says online with a slight metallic/sulfuric finish. Put the lid back on and got back to it. Finished my Sheiko for the day minus squat, showered off and rubbed on a pretty conservative amount, like a finger tip for my whole left adductor. It kinda felt like when you get mineral spirits on your skin and you have that warming tingling solvent sensation (...because it's a solvent). By this time my left adductor had an acute kinda stabbing pain to it like it's sprained, as if I had squatted wide stance or pulled sumo today even though I hadn't (this is my life). Got dressed and hit up q'doba to hang out with a friend who came in from out of town. On the road I felt more of the tingling and heat and I thought to myself, "Is this normal? Should it be hot and tingly like this? What do I do if it gets bad while I'm out and can't rinse off?" But everything was fine. Stopped itching/burning (minor) after about 10-15 minutes. Didn't think anything of it and everything felt nice and loose and almost normal. Still felt some minor pain in my adductor when i stepped up on a curb or when I would swing my leg out of my car but I think that's more due to a tight muscle than to actual acute pain, kno'm'sayin? Hanging out with my new squeeze later that evening she told me my breath was seriously funky and at first I was confused since I was chewing gum and everything, then I remembered that the sole side effect of DMSO is sulfury/garlicy breath (long hair, don't care, she can deal. gains come first). So it made sense and was accurate, in thinking about it it's probably due to the DMSO being broken down and excreted through the lungs because she said it wasn't my mouth that was funky, just my actual expelled air. Neat. Put some more on before bed; left adductor, right vastus lateralis, and right SI joint. Woke up in the morning and felt like a million bucks, but after a few hours I noticed the stabbing pain in my left adductor/groin area, Super mega hella tightness in my SI joint returned, and my right vastus lateralis was mega tight causing knee pain. I was away from the house yesterday so I didn't get to use any until later. Got home in the evening, Did like 3 hours of yoga and practicing my Karate kata, then 2 hours on the lacrosse ball hitting just the glutes. I tried to smash my adductor but I can't find my yoga block to pull the ball on and I'm not flexible enough to drop my balls on the ground so I had to just use my foam roller which didn't quite cut it. SI joint was pinching all throughout yoga and karate, felt a bit better after TPR and then I put on a good amount of DMSO (bilateral adductors/vastus lateralis's's's and my right SI) and hit the sack. Burned for 10/15 minutes while I was reading some articles and then it relaxed. Slept like a rock, felt awesome this morning, put some more on before church (10am) and even now at 6pm I still have no pain, just a bit of tightness that I still need to work out. More on everything later.

    TLDR? meh...

I think it's the combination of volume and switching from conventional to sumo. Previously untrained muscles are having to work their tits off to keep up. It's weird though because I can dl just fine and then I can't recover in time for Friday squats.

DMSO: didn't put any on today, minor si pain. Much better since I rolled out this weekend but more discomfort than I had yesterday, so that means it works right?

This DMSO stuff sounds interesting. Is it just a pain reliever or is it more than that?

The garlic breath effect might come in handy when my kids hit dating age. Just rub a bit on them and no one will go near them! LOL!

Supposedly it's a wonder drug discovered in the 70s. Helps with joint and muscle pain by causing vasodilation and closing of the c type nerve fibers (chronic pain) decreases healing time... I dunno. It helps with my pain but it's doing nothing for my recovery.

Another discouraging day, struggled to squat 340x1x3 so decided I was going to see how many sets I could get of 315. Got 315x1x5. Bench was great, hit my 3 singles on 290, but I don't know where to go from here. I pretty much haven't squatted in like 3 weeks because of the pain. I need to get back to training but I'm starting to be a bit worried about compartment syndrome since I'm foam rolling and stretching and still have such horrible stabbing pain.

I have some ideas about where to go from here but I don't know what I'm going to do yet, will post more later, bout to eat.

That's too bad about the day. Maybe the volume did you in? I mean with all your walking and having a rough go at getting calories, water, and rest? Might be time to recover and regroup. Maybe I'll see you around the squat everyday crowd.

Whatever your plan, I hope it works out...and I'm still jealous of your bench. I've got so far to go.

If you're really worried about chronic compartment syndrome you shouldn't be squatting at all. Not a pro at diagnosing it so I'm not gonna act like I know how to do that, but taking time off from squatting is the only thing that's going to make it better. I'd stay off it awhile and pop some ibuprofen 600mg every six hours for a week or so and catch up on that kardashian show you like so much.

Side note, hit 255 3x5 yesterday pretty easily. That's 70lbs in six weeks. With you taking time off and me plowing away, I'll be catching up soon!

Whatever your plan, I hope it works out...and I'm still jealous of your bench. I've got so far to go.
Volume definitely destroyed me. You'll get there man, slow steady gains. I've been lifting (training) seriously for 3 years now (with a 6 month break thrown in there)

Finally had some good days recently. Can't remember what all happened when, but here's the highlights

    Last week:

    Bench 300 x 1
Slow and ugly and grinded for like 3 seconds, but got it.

    Conventional DL
    Giving sumo adductors a break
405 x 2 came up like nothing and only did 2 because I was going to go big.
500 x 0 Bent the bar all the way to the outside edge of last plate but couldn't break ground
    475 x 0
    455 x 0
Once I fail I usually keep failing. Weak minded

    This week
    Squat
Decided to go heavy on some doubles with 20lb jumps
    315 x 3
    355 x 2
    375 x 2
395 x 2 Got slow but could have easily gotten 405x2
395 slowed down so switched to singles, didn't want to hit 415 again for a tie so i added 5
420 x 0 came up about 2 inches out of the hole and my abs lost tightness so I collapsed forward a tad, Evan braced by chest and I got the lift but didn't count
Decided to man up, add 5 lbs and hit it again because **** it I knew I had it
    425 x 0
Guess I didn't have it. Went down in to the hole, everything great, glutes didn't fire at all because they're probably still tight from sheiko, so I sat down on the stops.

Missed Wednesday workout from dealing with the VA all day and then taking a statistics test. Stand by for big time progress as I switch to triples training and then do the Sheiko 32 peaking cycle 4 weeks out.

    Pray for me brahs.

It must be seasonal or something, lots of strained adductors right now. I tried dmso (Google it) and foam foam rolling. It helped a bit but not as much as laying off sumo deadlift has. Didn't feel any adductor pain in conventional the other day, started to ache a little on the heavy squats but nothing like the nauseating pain of sheiko squats.

Brutal workout! Good for you going for the big weight though! Keep at it cause in a year the stuff you struggle with now will just be warmup sets! Keep looking forward and training in the same direction!
