    Pre-match diet?

I've been moved to a different position for a rugby match on sat. and want to do as well as possible. I'm in outside-center, and the way we play that means a LOT of sprinting. It will just be like a full on HIIT workout. I'm pretty fit and good at sprinting but I want to have as much energy as possible on the day. What types of foods should I eat and how long before the game? I've noticed that when my diet is weird before the game I'm slower and more tired so want to know what is the most effective way to plan your meals is before a match. Thanks for any help,

It's different from person to person, but if you noticed what made you slower and more tired you should also have noticed what foods gave you good energy. So eat what you have had success with in the past, but you probably shouldn't try anything new on game day it might backfire.
