What are some brutal ab exercises?
I have neglected my abs as usually I train them via squat/DL but I can't do any lifts that involve weighted knee flexion due to a meniscal cartilage tear.
What can I do to build up my abs? My lower back/hip flexors are paying the price. I'm looking for something that will make them strong as hell, I don't care too much about size although that would be a bonus.

my ab exercises of choice...not that mine are prime example of desired abs or anything, but they are very effective especially after having completed my lower body days.

For me its the ab roller and hanging leg raises. After a good squat session is when I feel them the most though.
Yes I'm 60 and no I'm not on HGH or Test

All of the above is pefect. Hanging leg raises are a killer, also don't forget to include Oblique exercises. Also try and include Deadlifts IMO it really tightens your core.

Windshield wipers if you can do them otherwise ab twist with weight and ab roller can be pretty rough.

Prepare Perform Prevail
I stick to heavy machine crunches, various cable twists, weighted swiss ball crunches, and DB or KB side bends.

All in all, great ideas guys. I will have to explore them all.
Are there any holds you can do while just standing up and going about your business during the day? I practise glute activation by just squeezing as hard as I can when I'm just standing waiting for something and it's working wonders but I can't quite get the feel of this for the abs.
