1. Watch your money when out.

2. Always have an emergency $20. Do not touch it unless you get into situations like this. Replace it if it is ever spent.

3. Do not ever assume a guy is going to pay. If you can't afford both yours and his share of the date (incase he does lose his wallet, his card is declined, he gets mugged on the way, they don't accept american express, blah, something), don't go out.

I'm not sure how long you spent with him, but a first date really shouldn't be more than a couple of hours, so you defs should not have drank so much that you couldn't afford cab fare.

There are a lot of decent, hardworking and independent women out there who exercise discretion and treat the men in our lives with respect. It disappointments me that so many guys view ALL women as being conniving, stupid and worthless. Anything that perpetuates this notion does not sit well with me.
