Honestly feels like we've become a toilet bowl of eclecticism or diversity if you will, and there really seems to be no sign of it stopping any time soon.
How long until English (and French) are no longer the official languages of our Country?
Honestly I'm not a racist person, but we as Canadians are barely holding the idea/label of what is considered "Canadian" together by a thread. Now being Canadian simply means you happen to live/work here and the traditions/customs of whatever country you come from will now be slathered into the daily norm.
Inb4 white/native (native to Canada) is now a minority in all major cities
BRB language barriers calling anybody who works in the service sector in English speaking country
BRB un-related gang violence, drug trafficking & crime brought into our cities (i.e. Calgary right now)
BRB countries like the UK have caps and strict screening protocol for all those who they now allow into their country
BRB people who aren't able to stay in the states just come up here, seems like nobody even gives a fukk who comes in
I'm not saying that multiculturalism and helping out refugees coming from poorer situations is a bad thing, but at what point are we going to put the brakes on this sort of norm?
INB4 negged to red
Tired of everything being so "politically correct" in absolutely every regard (e.g. gay marriage, immigration, bullying and such). When the hell are people going to start growing balls and laying out the issues for what they are?
Cliffs: Perhaps I should put this in another section

Can brah checkin in.
Non racist. But 90% srs. Sub sections of cities now have the street signs completely changed and you can't even communicate unless you speak punjab / east asian languages. Fuk.
Edit: Canada makes them learn the dumbest farking shiet to gain citizenship. Like every irrelevant fact in canadians history.

Canada isn't an English/French nation the whole point of Canada is that it's open for everybody. Non-English have just as much right to have their language as English people do. Canada isn't a traditional nation in that regard and that's why it's so fuarking awesome.
If you want a melting pot go to America and see how that's working out.

Im a Chinese born Canadian citizen, currently living in the states. My dad moved to Canada when I was 2 yo to get his PhD, and I love the place. Pretty sure we wouldn't have gotten a visa to the US as Chinese citizens, but Canada had great immigration policy for skilled labor in 1994. Ive been living in the US since 8 yo, but I still (and always will) identify as a Canadian.
Im sure you'll be hard pressed to find a Canadian who can trace his lineage back 3 generations as a Canadian. But of course, you dont realize because they are white. North American culture is based off of European culture, because there are far more European immigrants (like OPs ancestors). Asian and Africans carry their own traditions to Canada too, but they stand out and seem so foreign because they aren't like white folks.

its getting out of hand imo. the entire west coast is dominated now by immigrants, mostly chinese folks, no racist. they launder cash here in real estate, completely inflate the prices and fuk everyone over. then you have the arabs and pakis come over here, again no racist, and live for 6 months, get citizenship, full pension plan, benefits, and welfare. and who pays for this baloney? the upstanding law abiding citizens of canada, just trying to ahead.

Agreed. How long until system in place can no longer handle?
Social Assistance is given out recklessly too. Little to no background checks done... personally know of a few people that claim they cannot find work but would rather just collect 'Welfare' instead. Many Canadians view Welfare as a right and feel no need to work if they don't want too.
Also, aware that many politicians now are from major 'immigrant' ethnicities that will most likely fight any sort of reduction in immigration based on loyalty tot heir former country and not on legitimate logistics.
Recently read some articles about this although and it seems like something is gonna have to change.

I'm 100% for immigrants coming with skills and integrating or at least TRYING to integrate into whats "accepted" as "canadian" society. It's even better if they bring some of their own traditions. I'm definitely pro diversity.
What really rustles my jimmies is when one skilled worker comes over, then his whole family gets a free ticket too. Brb 300+ member family comes in for one skilled worker, never attempts to learn english or accept any part of culture or try to share their own.

It's not about limiting immigration based on English/French... it's just that with our current basically 'Open' Immigration Policies there's going to be a point where more people will be here than there is work or that can the country can support. That's a broad and general way to say it...
So people are suggesting Immigration is gonna have to be reduced or tightened up to prevent that.
