I asked because he made a thread on the subject, posted a college paper someone from his family wrote and thought he did so because he wanted a discussion. Maybe I found it odd that a Texan would bring up this particular subject matter and then be unwilling to discuss his own opinions.
Made people need to lighten up and not be so worried about me lightning up.
Sorry OP... cool story bro... I guess I'm not sure what kind of replies you are looking for or how I'm suppose to reply.

No problem amigo. I don't know if you read the whole thread, but I stated my opinion more than once. At this point in time, seceding is not a good idea IMO. If we were to secede, life would still go on for me. I hope I have given you enough clarification on this matter.

I wish I could give you a straight answer, but it's not that black and white. I guess when this country is more reliable on the government for their needs is in the majority, which IMO is not to far off. Geez, I posted up a gawddamn copy and paste from my daughter.

I had a boring-ass meeting this morning. It was so freakin' worthless that I started doodling. So I started to draw fighter planes attacking T-rex dinosaurs.
Then I thought about this very subject. (TRUE STORY.)
YES!!
I hope Texas would secede. You guys are a wealthy state. You have enough resources to be self-sufficient. You don't need the federal government.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Texan legislators have to vote every 2 or 4 years to remain in the union, correct?
By seceding it would empower other states to do the same. The federal government has way toooooo much power. Obama has more power than King George of England ever had.
Texas can always rejoin a Constitutional Republic if we ever go back to it. Doubtful, but wishful thinking. This above all..

But, but, they're the progressives. They're the educated ones . They're the tolerant ones (tolerant only of those who agree with them). They're the inclusive ones who feel obligated to point out bigotry whenever and wherever they see it (with the exception of when its looking back at them in the mirror). They're the ones who proclaim their hatred of hate (with the exception of hating those with whom they disagree). They are the future, God help us all.

It's an interesting subject, and I wouldn't be opposed (New England had considered seceding as early as 1815). Some of the language in the OP was suggestive and I am not surprised by shredded's response.
The subject matter is political and radical, so I don't quite understand why you are surprised at the responses. I thought it was an interesting topic worth discussing. (shrugs)

is is taken out of context. The bible says women are to be quiet in church but it has nothing to do with intelligence. This was a time when they were first allowed to attend church and they were interrupting sermons with questions. They were told to be quiet and ask questions later after church was over. That's my generic interpretation anyway.

If we follow in Jesus' actions, he would expect us to be kind, gentle, and appreciative of women. I don't recall anything about Him saying they are stupid either.

I've noticed that this depends on who supports what. It was our civic duty to question our government 9 years ago, now it's just a bunch of racists terrorist rednecks who do it. The loudest detractors or federal policy (eg Patriot Act) then are now completely mum. Guess 'cuz Obama supports it it must be legitimate.

The liberals have sprung up among us to steal the fruits of our own labor with their ever-grasping, yet idle hands. Texas will be a blue state soon enough. The leaches now know they are the majority, and they will vote as such. Any State that remains in the union is doomed to social darwinism. Go Texas!
