I don't think anything will change for me in the short term because of the election. I'll keep working, paying taxes (maybe at a higher rate), and enjoying life. I'll spend less time arguing politics and more time complaining about Obama.
I plan on getting more involved with the legalization movement here in 2014. It didn't really get off the ground in 2012 because of lack of organization and money, but that will be different in two years.
My new girlfriend is moving in to my place in the next few weeks, so that will be a change. One that's completely unrelated to politics.

Seriously? I heard there were people like y'all out there but i didn't believe it. I work HARD and I'm glad that i don't need a handout but I'm happy to give less fortunate folks help. I'm fiscally moderate and socially liberal. Obama's far from perfect but i don't think we really had any true idea who Romney really is. He sure didn't seem to know from one week to the next.

If Obama had entered office and had made some cuts, and more careful with the taxpayers money on stimulus, and not funding all these green energy projects that fell on their face. If he had said "hey we will keep the gulf open for drilling, because we haven't gotten enough bugs worked out on putting in all these solar farms just yet, but it is coming" If he had made more decisions that allowed for transitional periods of energy independence then I would not be so critical of the man. He has no concept of what it takes to run a country/business/ socioeconomic behemoth the U.S.A has become. He has read alot of books but has never practiced under smaller circumstances. He was unfit to lead from day one.

Well, I fired off an e-mail to the GOP HQ and told them to dig thier heads out of thier asses and start grooming someone NOW who can freakin' win or I'm going to register as an Independent. 76% Hispanics, and as we know, a vast Majority of African-Americans voted for Obama. How about we just swing for the fences and have a West/Rubio ticket? Also picking up an AR today and have my eyes on a 50 cal also. Already set with reloading equipment and supplies.

I already do all these things. lol jk
Presidents come and go, and you just have to live your life, as best you can. You can only control what you can control.
Regarding going on a news 'fast,' I hear ya. I rarely watch the news, because I'm never quite sure if it's fact I'm hearing, or someone's interpretation of fact, or someone's opinion on fact. It used to be that newspapers, and broadcasters spoke fact. But, hard to tell anymore.
As far as goals go, I plan to volunteer at a local hospital, I've been saying this, but going to stop procrastinating, and sign up to be a volunteer.
Nice thread here, dj.

I personally do not think the values of Americans have changed, case in point is your response, which I more than likely agree & share with you on,the basics, tenets of our Country and it`s foundings and heritage Our elected Leaders are what needs to be changed IMO, I mean both candidates spent 2 BILLION dollars and the collective parties in the neighborhood of 6 Billion and what was the overall end result, Same damn people, The same people for all intents & Purposes, how`s it worked so far, where is the change, and the Republican Party was whipped like a rented mule, eviscerated, laid bare, Like a Christmas Turkey, and they will continue to LOSE, IF the same People are in charge or in the Limelight, the Morons on Fox, especially Rove {how much did he make off this, super PAC} or the Bomb throwers, like Coulter, Morris the toe licking ex Clinton Heavyweight, ETC ETC, making millions off books, many of which I have read, sorry me, And A myriad of others who make huge SUMS of $ off this Crap and throw the general populace to the wolves. I mean I heard someone say, Hannity actually said yesterday "Our most important election of our Lifetime, 2016 starts Now", Really !-------
Ronald Reagan Won in a massive landslide with No Fox News, no O`reilly {blowhard narcissist} No Rush, Or Drudge, He won because he Believed and conveyed a Message of not only how DAMN great this Country is, it`s fundamentals and precepts & Principles, a Nation of Law & Opportunity for all {The Shining City on a Hill} and also how Damn Great the overall Population is, exclusive and exceptional in being an American, and that ANYONE with AMBITION & common sense can take advantage of the Opportunity of being an American {because that in & of itself is the great advantage, BEING AN AMERICAN}, he allowed People to believe in the American dream, for anyone !------------------
The Modern Republican Establishment is a ruse IMO, all talk and pigeon holing, divisive and condescending, I am not saying the Democrats are any better, {they are both lying cheating hypocrites and schysters looking out for their own best interests}but they {the Party} definitely convey right or wrong & however they do it, their message better, and anyone that who wants to argue with me, fine, All I can say is look at Tuesdays Results, Romney is a good man and more than likely would have made a good President, Personally I think if the Republicans keep those who are now currently in control entrenched, then they will continue to lose----Just an OpinionLast edited by thomashenry; 11-08-2012 at 09:29 AM.
