Awfy nice to see a happy thread!
Just a few of my blessings that I count:
- the Fabulous Mr Flexy
- our wonderful boys
- great parents, great siblings, great lifelong memories
- a job that I love, with a boss who appreciates me and pushes me to grow
- morning coffee with said boss and telecons with our colleagues in the US
- the wee house we call home, and the warm oven that has dinners waiting for us
- a close-knit community, a village where we say "Good Morning/Afternoon" to each other, where the merchants wrap your parcels, and the ladies at the library are truly interested in what you're reading
- the friends, acquaintances, neighbours and e-friends I've made over the years
Life is truly grand. And it's grand to stop and take a moment to realise how wonderful it is.No drama: You know where we are.

I always think that to show appreciation, or the ability to appreciate is one thing that makes life more meaningful.
I dont take anything for granted, in everything there is opportunity or disappointment. I choose opportunity.I'm open to any suggestions and have a difficult time accepting limitations without an honest effort on my part, you can count on that!
"iCan, iWill, iHave"
There are always choices, no bad ones, no good ones, only "great" ones,
"Oh, great!" :)

You're so right! A gratitude journal is the best anti-depressant, if you ask me. Everyday you write down one thing you're grateful for. Oh sure, it's easy the first couple of months, but then, if your'e not allowed to repeat your entries, you find yourself actually searching for something to be grateful for and write down. Forcing one's self to find beauty or joy is a great exercise!
No drama: You know where we are.

Life is good for me.
I have my health, family, friends and a great job. When we lost power in the storm this past week (for 6 days) my daughter was complaining about not having cable T.V. Instead of getting upset I took her to the diner and we watched the news and I showed what real problems are. Not having a home anymore is a real problem. But some of those people were happy to still have their family and health. No cable for a week doesn't count. We left the diner and when we got home she told my wife how lucky we are. That was a win in my book. Hopefully it sticks.I'm a great believer in luck and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it. ~ Thomas Jefferson

I have a lot of things to be thankful for, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't hard to keep that in perspective on many days .
3 great kids:
Oldest son graduated from college in May and has a great job.
Second son about to graduate from college in the spring and has a great job secured.
Daughter in her 2nd year of college and just got accepted to UGA, as well as just informed she's earned GA's Hope Scholarship (3.2 GPA).

My alternator went out on my van on the way home from work!
So I took it off so I'll have my core ready tomorrow.
I get in the BMW to go to grocery store to get dinner. Turn on blower for the defrost and nothing happens! No #1,2,3,4 speeds. WTF! Did I turn into Electroman or something and everything I touch fries????
But you know what? That **** can all be fixed. Not stressing!
Cause I got too much to be thankful for!
Wife cooked a great roast. I got a cold beer. The kids got good grades. Tomorrow is pay day. And tomorrow night is the first night of basketball practice for my 13u team! Things are going just fine

My 5 year old girl. She rocks my world. I love seeing her sleep. I love making her breakfast. I love talking to her.
Everything else pales in comparison in my life.I don't lift weights, I flex under duress.

I have a lot to be happy about in my life.
1) I have a beautiful new girlfriend who's moving into my place in a few weeks. Things couldn't be better.
2) I have a great job and a career I love
3) I'm doing well financially through years of hard work and savings
4) I'm living in a era of technology people used to think was impossible
5) I'm getting my old strength back, and I should be able to get back to lifts like barbell bench press and overhead press after the next surgery
6) I'll have a volunteer private nurse to help me get through the next surgical recovery. And anything else we're in the mood for
7) I'm living in one of the best places on Earth. Not San Leandro in particular, but the Bay Area and the United States as a whole
8) Some other things I can't mention here
Congrats on the 31 years. It's great to see people stay together like that over the decades. That's what marriage should be about. My grandparents just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, so you guys have a long way to go.

My turn!
1) Going on 15 years of marriage to my dream guy.
2) A son who is funny, kind, polite, and intelligent. I adore that kid.
3) Two dogs who I think are very funny and sweet. Plus, the bigger one (Holly Belle Simpy Dog) is the only thing that makes running tolerable.
4) A warm home to rest and entertain.
5) Parents and in-laws who help out with raising the kiddo and do it with pleasure.
6) A job I enjoy.
7) A part-time job that I really have a lot of fun with.
8) My health
9) Good friends whom I don't see often enoughSimp's Back: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=165133671&page=1

Consider myself very fortunate:
1. Married 37 (happy) years to a wonderful and caring man
2. My health
3. My beautiful niece Suzy who has Downs Syndrome and is a joy and delight each and every day
4. A brother who is a shrink - (comes in handy once in a while)!
5. Mother who is 97 years young, lives in Florida and never, ever complains
6. Retired! The best thing ever.
7. A roof over my head, nice food and a beautiful gym.
It's all good and and life is good.

a) My two beautiful children.
b) My wife who should be awarded "Mother of the Year, Northeast Pennsylvania."
c) My mom-and-dad- in-laws and my mom and dad, who are always around to help out with my kids.
d) Extended family - bro and sis in laws, etc...
e) My health and the health of my loved ones.
g) My full-time career as an Engineer that pays the bills.
h) My part-time career as a coach that proves I can make a living doing something I love.
i) The O-35 section. I may have lots of family members, but I have little friends in the real world. I may never meet any of you guys in real life, but I feel emotionally connected here. This above all..
To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..

Love this thread.
I figured we see/read so many people (on here, on FB, irl etc) complaining about this and that why not focus on some positive things in our lives.
Keep em coming folks, surround yourself with positive vibes and positive things happen, surround yourself with negativity and negative things find you...On the list for Bannukah

I'm thankful for so many things.
My awesome son who has so much energy and vigor. His love of learning and play keeps me going.
A great job that's flexible and sensitive to my needs
Dynamite friends who are a blast to hang with and very helpful, not the shallow self-servient types
Food! Food tastes great!
My health! No cancer, no physical problems (beyond the 2).
The Gym - my gym. It's 20 steps away. It waits expectantly every day for me to spend time with it.
My dog Emma. She's sweet, actually knows tricks (rare for a beagle) and is a good listener. Thankful that she's eating less poop these days.
O35 - My virtual friends here. Like Norwichgrad, I feel connected to folks here and am very appreciative of your advice, knowledge, and mostly your patience.
