    Got ROLF'd

Third time to go see a ROLF therapist. Its like a massage but very painful. Worked a lot of knots out and after three my flexability is improving. Anyone have any experience with this?
As i get older I am realizing i have to get while the gettings good. I can put stats and PR's up here all day long. But, the main concepts with my workouts....

    What is ROLF.

Is it similar to trigger point therapy or ART?

It takes muscles and realigns them where they belong.

Thank you. This thread inspired me to explore ROLFing. I found a certified Advanced ROLFer, and I spoke with her at relative length. I now have my first appointment scheduled in early December. Hopefully, this will be the answer to my nagging shoulder pain.

From what i have learned it is a process. I went in for back issues and just now on the third was there really extensive back work done. We shall see. If anything, i am starting to enjoy the pain. Weird.

I have an appointment this Saturday. Lower back and hips...no flexibility and super tight. Has now kept me from squatting for 3 weeks. I'll definitely update.

Actually, you can just refer to them as Rolfers.

and from the thread Forzensparky started here:

What's out of place are the muscles and tendons attached to the bone that have spasmed, shortened, or become less flexible thus pulling the bone out of place. This is what Rolfing works with, the deep tissue fascia, muscle, ligaments and other connective tissues.
Now dont think I'm bashing Chiropractors, I believe in both. I have an amazing sports Chiro here in town that I use in addition to the Rolfing I have done.
