Haha, yeah i understand that the 15-18 lbs is a good amount still. But considering, I'm down ~90lbs already so, sometimes it feels like ~15 isn't that much. So, the fact that you eat the same exact thing every day makes food a non issue for you cause it is automatic, huh? That's interesting.

What do you mean leave your workout for workout time?

That's a good point about a moderate cheat day once every 3 weeks. I'm doing one every week right now and that is probably not necessary.

You know what it tastes like, and it's not like you're never going to taste it again. You just don't need it today." Drink some water, and within 5-10 minutes the craving would generally be gone.

I'm having a bit of an issue, I'm trying to eat around maintenance (2500 cal) for about 2 weeks before getting into a bulk. I basically stopped doing IF when I stopped my cut because I didn't want to restrict myself anymore. Now I'm HUNGRY AS FUARK. I've usually hit my cals for the day by 4-5 PM because now I'm having something to eat earlier in the morning and drinking a latte with it, having a couple of big meals and a snack and when the evening rolls around I'm battling serious hunger. I'm not sure if I want to go back on IF schedule or what. I want to have a cleanish bulk, hopefully transitioning up from maintenance to my bulk cals will help.

I'm a bit scared to see what the scale is going to do, since I had my Thanksgiving pigout and then immediately upped my cals, and I just started taking creatine. I'm guessing I won't be able to trust the scale for at least the next few weeks to see whether I'm eating enough or too much.
Good point about controlling the initial craving. I have found that if I can stick it out, it does go away. When I give in, usually it ends up going way beyond just the single snickers bar that I was craving.....

Personally, I would stick to an IF type schedule. It is easy for me though since I work during the day. So breakfast and lunch are something small and then dinner and dessert are usually quite large. That's just the way I enjoy eating though. I don't feel 'restricted' at all.

Yeah i eat the same stuff so i CANT mess it up because thats all i eat, obviously i want to eat extra but i just dont so its impossible to screw up.
By the workout thing i mean dont take the gym home or think about it or anything once its done. Keeping your mind occupied with something fun will 110% get rid of hunger. If im out working on a car or something then the thought of food doesnt even enter my mind.
Once a week may be a bit much if it sets you back, mine usually ended up around 3500-4000 depending on where i was at at the time. If its mostly carbs its just refilling glycogen stores mostly, from experience.

i try to tell people to stop thinking about food altogether, because thats how they got fat. "i wonder what im going to eat next" kind of mentality. Loading up on protein early on KILLS my appetite for the entire day, its kinda weird, but if i have carbohydrates then i become the hulk when it comes to hunger, id recommend playing around with that stuff to see if it helps.

One day out of the week, since i ate the same thing every day, i would take my fats down and replace one of my main carb sources with a pint of ben and jerrys. I HATE the term "IIFYM" because i always see some dude going "hey man, i ate some ice cream, IIFYM rocks!". Just eat the damn thing!
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

    This is me.

When I was a fat fuk I never thought twice about food, I just ate whatever was cheap and easy to get and washed it down with beer. Now that I've started cooking for myself and watching my diet I think about food 24/7. It sucks. I've caught myself hanging around the house not doing anything because that was where my next meal was going to be.

For me, it is not the fact that the 'diet' stops working, but that I stop 'dieting'. I was down around 170 a few months ago and decided that I needed a diet break. This turned into months of a surplus and gained about 20lbs in 3 months. So, I reigned things back in and am now back down to 175 and then during Thanksgiving week, completely stopped counting and just let everything loose. Gained about 7lbs....4 of which are not water. That sucks cause it set me back about 2-3 weeks.

I guess I know what my deal is....I just lose focus and end up bouncing up and down with my weight. My original question was about what any of you have used to get past that sticking weight you have battled in the past?

I put a new tagline in my profile of "Suck it up or stay fat." It is one of Lyle's ways to deal with hunger. I just need to remind myself that if I don't stay consistent, than I will never achieve my body composition goals. I realize this and now I just need to put it to practice. Sorry if I'm boring anybody, just typing out loud here. Any comments are welcome.

Bad gym night. Recovery between sets was atrocious. At least I made it all the way through. 1hr lifting, 30 sets, 60secs roughly between each set of 10-15,sometimes more.

Things that might have contributed to badness:
    1. Still don't feel 100% from cold
    2. Been 1.5weeks since last gym.
    3. Started cut Monday - may be too aggressive at 1700cal target.
    4. 5.5hrs sleep last night
    5. 12hrs since I woke up at 5am I hit gym
    6. Only 1000cals pre-gym

Here's a newb type question...Do you guys use a little something for motivation when you are feeling the cutting blues? Does anybody carry around a fat pic of themselves in case you are tempted by some high cal treat? Anything like that?

Just wondering...I always tend to get to about this weight (low 170s) and then lose traction and never really break into the 160s. This is a shame cause I think I only have about 15-18 lbs more to go until I can start bulking for a while.

Anyway, what do you use to keep you going deeper into a cut even after you have already made good progress?
I get my motivation from taking progress pics every single day. Once you get relatively lean even 1 pounds makes a big difference in the mirror. A good day of diet and training will usually result in a better pic than the day before.

The only reason why I started bulking was because the camera on my phone broke lol

You are already pretty close to be being shredded if your avi is updated. I bet you could notice every pound if you take a picture.

Awesome work clock. What is crazy is that you look happy in your fat pic and somber in your lean pic. Its cause there wasnt a care in the world about bf in the fat pic. I miss those days.
