Given enough time, any man may master the physical. With enough knowledge, any man may become wise. It is the true warrior who can master both, and surpass the result.

Someone offer me an explanation. The least accurate and more hilarious the better.
I bulk. My legs grow a ton. My endurance has gone to chit. Insanity kills me. Yoga kills me. Plyo kills me. Long runs kill me.
All that stuff used to be a joke.1175 @172

You used to be skinny and light as fuk and now you have aesthetic weight slowing you down?
I wasn't really in at the start of the accountability thread but I'm going to add my progress pics. Because I am pretty much done cutting. I keep telling myself just a couple more weeks but I'm about ready to start putting on some mass.US Coast Guard ~ SEMPER PARATUS

alright imma give you a completely un-scientific broscience answer, and i have no research to back it up other than "i read it somewhere." but.. i read somewhere.. that there are two kinds of muscle fiber. fast twitch and slow twitch or something like that. one produces strength, one produces endurance. which is why sprinters have huge legs and marathoners have skinny legs. so it probably has something to do with this. like you've grown the strength fibers at the cost of endurance fibers or something. i don't know any of the technical terms and i'm not gonna make it sound like i know what im talking about any more than i actually do, but hopefully this gives you a basis for some healthy googling.

I wasn't that much lighter than I am now, and added more muscle. I never expected such a drastic change in my endurance. I'm sure there is a legit explanation, I'm just not sure what. It could be my drastic change in calories too. Lack of glycogen in comparison maybe. I'm at about 20% of the carbs I have been for the last few months.

This thought definitely crossed my mind, but it was only like 3.5 months. Didn't think anything to do with muscle fibre would change so quickly.
I'm back into the endurance stuff - kinda, so hopefully it will come back. Instead of 3-5 squats ill be pulling 10-15, running lots, and doing Plyo. Hopefully it comes back quick.1175 @172

I think it's carb intake. cut to 20% of what you're used to. it's bound to have an effect on your energy level, hence, you feel like total chit on long runs. makes sense.

Thanks very much brah My primary goal was to prove myself that I could lose weight... because I've tried and failed so many times before. Second goal was to see my abs... because I've never seen them in my life. I pretty much have a fuzzy 4-pack right now which has satisfied my desire. No real need to cut much more as I don't have much mass to show off.
Edit: I'm really glad I'm not lactose intolerant as about 2/3 of my calories today have come from milk, yogurt and ice cream.US Coast Guard ~ SEMPER PARATUS

And they look like crap. Who cares if you can bench 350 if you are bearmode (who in public you cant even tell that they lift). Being lean with slow steady progress is the way to go, and how you look is more important than getting big lifts which WILL come with time and patience.
Cutting sucks, i spent a year of my life doing that, keeping the surplus moderate so you gain fat very slowly is the way to go since you WILL have good lifts if you dont quit.
If you bulked for a year at half a pound a week vs 1 lb, thats only 26 vs 52 lbs.
Id rather have girls check out my vascularity and visible muscle insertions that be a fatass again. There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

The psychological part of it when you are not overweight is hard because hunger and hormones are now into play, at my heaviest when weight was flying off eating like 1600 from the start i wasnt even hungry and food was non issue. My last cut i was incredibly hungry and when there is something on the line (built up strength) that you have to watch out for you have to do it even slower as to not undo the damage.
If a noob has no gains to lose they wont lose anything so its easy to just yank calories, but not so much when you are in single digit territory where every calorie counts and you are fighting off hunger pangs :|There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

ITT: Serp is scared to bulk because of unresolved psychological issues, pushed his unfounded beliefs on others, and complains about not gaining weight.
