What is it?
I'm not on the creatine... yet. I think I'm going to start when I start bulking...
In my job (military aviation) I'm technically supposed to discuss all supplements with my flight surgeon before taking them... as some of them can thin your blood, etc. which would be bad if there's a mishap. Hasn't stopped me from taking a PWO 3x a week but I'm a little unsure about taking creatine. Hardly worth asking the doc as I'm sure he'll tell me nothing is allowed.US Coast Guard ~ SEMPER PARATUS

Didn't think it was all that serious..
I just bought some of reg creatine mono. But this stuff was just incredibly cheap and was supposed to be somewhat of a pre workout as well. Its the brand "creatine 3." And it was nausea. Really bad nausea.RepRepRep

Mmmm yeah. I'm sure it's NBD. I actually just started taking a PWO for the first time about 2-3 weeks ago and right after I'd taken it for the first couple of times my flight surgeon sent out an email me and all the other aircrew as a semiannual reminder that "all herbal and dietary supplements shall be discussed with the flight surgeon prior to use in accordance with regulations" etc etc...
Would I get in trouble if I don't discuss them with the doc, probably not. I'm pretty sure half of the rescue swimmers I work with take supps that they haven't discussed with anyone.US Coast Guard ~ SEMPER PARATUS

When you do anything in military aviation, they want your mind to be 100% (might be same for navy stuff too idk). I had a friend who flew UAVs and he couldn't even consume alcohol 48 hours before a flight. It might not seem like a big deal to the average person, but in a professional environment where expensive equipment is involved, it becomes more relevant.

....it is widely thought that it increases brain metabolism and energy (google). Studies aren't thorough enough to say for sure what the effects are exactly but they could be unfavorable. Again this is the military we're talking about, think they want to take chances with their million (some billion) dollar equipment? I think I remember my friend saying he couldn't take something for a cold or headache before flying a UAV. They want total alertness without worry of interference.

This! Well said. They want all pilots and aircrew to be 100%. I can't fly within 12 hours of any alcohol consumption ("12 hours bottle to throttle"). There have been times when I didn't get enough sleep and felt a little bit crappy and off my game. In those situations I'm expected to speak up and tell the crew so that the flight can be cancelled or another aircrew member can take my place, because in my case there are 3 other people depending on me to be on top of everything. Safety first.
