Practiced with kettle bells today as suggested by the book I'm reading (has a DVD too). Want to make sure I have the technique right and build up joint strength. Seriously underestimated how difficult working with a kettle bell would be.
Am loving this exercise called the 'get up'. You basically start lying on the floor, keeping your entire arm locked straight up in the air. You then work your body to a standing position while keeping everything tight and breathing properly...elbow stays locked the entire time. Is considered a 'pressing' exercise and can definitely tell. Parts of my back that I haven't felt in a long time are sore only from practicing a few reps. Have to move in stages to get the kettle bell up and it can be pretty tough, even with just 25lbs. My man is using a 35lbs kettle and had similar difficulties.
Going to start doing the basic moves / swings and work my joints up to being strong enough to workout sessions. Am very impressed already.

I'm seeing that, they're no joke. You really need to be strong to use them and have to maintain proper tension. The good thing is that my man is using a 35lb, so I can use his when needing to move up. He'll end up picking up a 45, then a 55... so should always have something to step up to. Do you use kettle bells a lot? Happen to know any good books on them?

That makes sense, I heard they burn a lot of calories so can see why they might not be so good for a bulk lol. I have Enter the Kettlebell and just got the DVD to go with it. Glad I did too because I would have been messed up having only the book to go by...he's descriptive but it's a lot different to see how he's tensing and breathing in action.
lmao...It's like the sensitivity is just seeping from me as soon as I see the pics. I can't help myself!
