Wonder if that's from the years of inbreeding? I suspect some of those dogs aren't all that right in the head. Had a very similar thing happen to our family with a golden retriever....
Then again, I've seen dogs get like that when they're old and have some kind of pain issues that might not be readily identifiable.
I still love big dogs...nothing like be able to wrestle with your dog to me

Growing up my family had several dogs over the years, from mutts to pure-breds. All of the dogs except for one were great/perfect in their own way. The exception was a home-hobbyist-type purebred American Cocker. He was pretty normal up until about the time he was 3-4, then he started biting out of absolutely nowhere. He'd come up to you, lie on his back and look at you like he wanted his stomach scratched. So you go, awe, what a cute little guy, and then, BAM! - rattlesnake-mode, he'd bite you right in the face. I have some scars to remember him by. Once we took him to get his haircut after careful prescreening of groomers to make sure they were used to this type of dog. This one gal said no problem, she never met a dog she couldn't handle, we were being concerned for nothing. Twenty minutes after drop-off, we get a call from her and she was terrified, screaming at us to take him back ASAP. Apparently she got the muzzle on, and he got it off right afterwards. That little guy was batsh*t crazy.
Our vet told us that American Cockers at the time were commonly inbred, and they would get so wigged/stressed-out that their eyes would pop out of their sockets.
Our last dog was a purebred Golden Retriever, and she was as gentle a dog as you could imagine, even when she was 14 and in chronic pain. Essentially the same with an English Springer and all our mutts.

Some primal / paleo eats...
Buffalo chicken wings w/ celery and blue cheese dressing:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Venison stir fry...meat seasoned w/ garlic and red pepper, veggies are sqaush, yellow and red bell peppers, cooked in left over juices from meat. Was delicious!
Also, my seeds came in today so planting some cherry tomatoes, hot peppers, green peppers, squash, and lettuce. If everything goes well inside my indoor setup, will be adding more . Excited to eat some homegrown veggies sans pesticide...going to be growing completely organic.Last edited by missladyj; 12-03-2012 at 01:06 PM.
naw, just zumba and wii fit
ive been taking him for walks to exercise him, i am so screwed if i have to ever chase him. I was sprinting as hard as i could and the little bastard is just lazily moving along while im huffing and puffing. Dem dog genetics.
i wonder how far he can go non stop before getting pooped. Will he stop when he gets tired or try to straggle along?There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?
It's funny that you say that, because every pic you take he's not paying any mind to your food lol
Coming up . Desert is going to be unexciting though...just some babybel and jerky
lol
He's a terrier so he might keep going until he can't lift himself. I had a border collie in Germany and that dog was ridiculous. He would literally keep chasing a frisbee until he damn near suffered from heat stroke. Was playing with him on day and he suddenly fell over, tried to get up and couldn't even walk straight. Had to hold the hose on him for a while to cool him down, then take to the vet. He really had the 'work dog' genes.
moore convinced me that micros dont matter so i skip the multi (plus they're too expensive). glutamine helps with recovery and glucosamine is for joint health. i really recommend glucosamine if you have any joint pain whatsoever. it's not a miracle drug or anything but it definitely helps.
hmmm semi-tempted now that you mention it, cause like a month's worth of glucosamine by itself is like $25 which is borderline retarded. does it have any weird taste btw? cause i've used a few glucosamines with MSM and had to quit using them cause they legit make me gag, chit's so nasty. looks like orange triad has msm in it.
