I sometimes see some clueless newb who would be an appropriate blank slate, but I tend to provide advice only when asked. And even when they ask for some pointers, it's awkward as hell. I have noticed, when you start mentioning “diet”, people tend to kind of tune out. Just like here, they expect a magic bullet, be it a supplement or particular exercise. I think I was kind of that way when I first got into it, only time could tell me otherwise.
I figure the 20 sets of DB preacher curl SS w/ crossover cable fly crowd would disregard anything I said.

Doesn't change the fact that that's the way it is.
On another note:
NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER take Allmax MusclePrime. I got a sample of it. Took it less than an hour after completely vacating my bowels. Got 3/4 the way through the 1 scoop serving and my stomach had to force it's way out my colon. Mixability was 3/10, taste was 3/10, effectiveness so far is like 4/10 (0/10 if you can't get off the toilet). God damned Canadian trash!1175 @172

It basically is exactly that. If you walk up to a complete stranger who is obviously an uneducated idiot and tell him how to get shredded, and you're 18% bodyfat, how's that gonna look?
If a 125lb bieber walks up to me and tells me how to deadlift I might kick him in the balls, doesn't matter if he's right or not. If a 250lb fatass tells me something about diet I'm going to roundhouse his jugular, doesn't matter if he has a phd in nutrition science.
Simple reality is, if you don't look like you know what you're doing, you advice isn't going to be taken seriously and you're going to look like a giant fukhead to 95% of the population.1175 @172

I wouldn't go up to an intermediate or advanced lifter but if someone is obviously a noob and doesn't know what they are doing I don't think they would think I'm a ******* for showing them how to do something properly even though I'm not 220 and 8% bodyfat.
If you came up to me I would think you're a ******* though, no question.

On the topic of PWOs I have only tried BSN Hyper-FX and I really like it. I only take it 2 days a week, for my heavy and medium workouts, and just have some espresso before my light day workout, in the hopes that I can keep taking it for a longer period before having to go on a stim break. I only take 1 scoop anyhow, but I get a nice focus and get really excited to lift. I have a whole mess of samples that I'm going to be trying over the next few weeks.
I have seen a few people that I badly want to coach on squats. There is one 30-something lady that I see wearing an 8" wide lifting belt, she loads up the Smith machine with the pussy pad and a couple of plates and does 1/4 ROM reps, and her feet are a good couple of feet in front of the station so that she's basically just leaning back on the bar. Another guy I've seen basically does good mornings, he squats down about 1/4 of the way then bends over at the waist as low as he can. Every time he straightens up again I cringe waiting for the sudden snap of his back exploding. I've never approached them though. As a golfer, I've learned that people don't tend to take advice very well, even if you have their best interests at heart.US Coast Guard ~ SEMPER PARATUS

There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

Pic is out of context, check the article. The article advises not to use a thumbless grip (which I agree with for the stated reasons) directly below a pic of a guy using a thumbless grip.

I have mastered a new knack, if not outright mutant super-ability.
I can take any chicken breast - fresh, frozen, broth-injected, free-range or what have you - and turn it into the most disgustingly inedible dry garbage ever. This didn't used to happen, I don't know what I am doing differently.
Yesterdays Turkey Fried Rice >>>>>>>>>Today's Chicken Breast Fried Rice. Moreover, it's so dry and stringy I had to ask around for some freaking dental floss just to extract the kevlar-like fibers from between my teeth.
I think I am going to have to go back to boiling or sauteing exclusively. Baking and broiling is not working out for me these days.

I have had success with chicken breast by making sure it's as thin as possible. I usually just put the raw breasts between a couple of plates and lean my weight on them to flatten the meat out. That way it cooks through in less time and the outside doesn't dry out. I just throw them on a skillet on slightly above medium heat on the stove with a little olive oil cooking spray.
Granted, turkey will probably always be juicier due to the cooking method.
Maybe try a slow cooker? Throw a whole mess of breasts in there with some water or broth and let them cook overnight? Probably guaranteed juiciness that way. I've been thinking of getting a slow cooker, I'm just in the habit of cooking my meal immediately before eating using an easy/quick method.
Damn, that looks easy. Might go buy one. Chicken, veggies, water, bouillon cubes or whatever... probably comes out tasting pretty bomb.Last edited by Tupperwolf; 11-30-2012 at 02:21 PM.
