Honestly, I'm confused on when I'm supposed to be concerned as a citizen and when I'm supposed to "move on." The rules seem rather vague.

Ok just wanted to clarify, he has 2 options: 1. executive order the country( force feed) or
    2. pray, ask nicely, or "try to work with" congress(house).

My favorite is going to the market next to my gym. It's fairly common to see each individual undertake 3 transactions: 1) Cash for lottery tickets, 2) EBT card for snacks, and 3) CC for beer.

That being said, our baby sitter is a single and middle aged, good soul, doesn't drink, honest as far as I can tell, etc. and supports her imprisoned brother's kid by working multiple jobs. She spends part of her earnings working on some type of teaching certificate/degree at a nearby community college. She also receives government assistance.

    It's never cut and dry.

I don't see how anyone could have really been happy with either outcome. As for Obama, look at who he beat and by how much. He barely beat Mitt Romney. That's like barely beating the KC Chiefs. Ooh, yay.

Today is exactly like yesterday. More or less the same parties in the same distributions in all the branches. At least gridlock has been preserved. That does make me happy.
Honestly, if Mitt Romney couldn't beat Obama in these horrible economic conditions, that does not bode well for the republican party. Let's face it. The vote is strongly racially divided, with the voting numbers of racial minorities increasing, while the white vote decreases. Unless the republicans become a lot like democrats, my guess is that the chance of them EVER winning another national election is pretty slim. What does this mean? A whole slough of Republican/Democrat candidates who are virtually indistinguishable.

I haven't signed anything I didn't vote, but what I am noticing is that we are a divided nation that is not agreeing on anything.

Nothing will be "fixed" if people do not put their difference aside and meet somewhere in the middle, I might not understand politics as much as I would like to, but I am educated enough to realize nothing is resolved on emotion.

Putting blame on others is always a recipe for disaster, it is time we stop putting blame, take on accountability and react.

It would behoove both republicans and democrats, to throw everything out the window, start a new, come to a conclusion on what works for the nation and not what works for "them" and make a f'cking change for the better.

I'd like to put all the liberal democrats on their own island. Between the "peace, love, dope" mentality, same sex marriages, and abortion their numbers will diminish as they wait for the "free lunch" that was promised before they elected their leader. Name calling and finger pointing will outnumber productivity,
    currently cutting..... again!!

God save America. That is all I have to say.

But reality is that all once-great Republics collapse sooner or later. We're heading for that steep,90-degree, thousand-foot drop cliff. The best we can do to at least slow down our own inevitable demise is to get involved politically at the local and state level, so at least our children can enjoy what's left over of what America has to offer, and to at least give a our kids just a little bit of taste of what America once was. Then we can all happily splatter together at the bottom of the cliff.
    This above all..
    To thine ownself be true..
And it must follow, as the night the day..
Thou can'st not then be false to any man..

I agree many people need it but here is a scenario I know of personally and it is things like this that piss me off.

Man and woman have 9 kids together. He does not work a real job but works as mechanic under the table and he receives disbability. For what? How is he disabled? They get over $1700 per month in food stamps. She does not work because she is also disabled? They live on Section 8 housing. She has 6 of her children on disability because they are ADHD. $569 monthly x 6. I know 2 sorry ass people who buy food stamps from her every single month (which I have reported - just because I am a b*tch like that) She is on no birth control at all so she is likely to get pregnant again. That family makes over $62k per year in social security/disability benefits alone every single year!!!

^^^^^ this absolutely infuriates me. In my line of work I see exactly what income people make and it is sickening. My husband and I get up and work our asses of everyday, pay taxes, pay insurance premiums and pay into social security and it burns me up to see people who sit on their ass and make this kind of living each year. SMH!!!

Getting off my soap box now so I can get back to work and pay taxes so people who do not work can live better than me!!!

At 48 years of age I am now getting into politics, found it boring as hell till roughly a year ago. Talking to DBX on the phone and this site here has brought me closer to politics.

So now I am doing research, watching the debates, educating myself on the electoral votes vs popular votes etc etc.

What I see from a very high level is that people pick and choose a party that favors what they believe in and are not open in anyway to interpret (or give chance) to the other party.

It is closed minded people arguing a cause that in the end, will hurt all if something as simple as a compromised is not met.

This country is indeed headed down a slippery slope
The idea that "takers" gave Obama the victory is a nonsensical myth. Look at the blue states and the red states. The solidly conservative Republican states are the ones that receive more money per capita from the federal government than they pay in taxes. Most of the blue states pay more than they receive back. Blue states subsidize the red states.
