I live in one of the most expensive cities in north america and I live off less than $1100 a month.
-brb basic crappy 5 year old cell phone with basic plan
-brb live with 2 buddies in a cheap basement suite (though in a good location)
-brb buy all my food in bulk and never eat out
-brb take public transit (don't have to worry about gas, car payments, insurance payments, tune ups, repairs, etc)
I work 32 hours a week throughout the school year and pay for everything and still have money to save/invest and get about 50 bucks a week to spend on booze etc.
It's all about budgeting and figuring out what's really important to you. I value my time more than I value a better house or smart phone. And eating out costs like 20+ bucks each time, is it really worth working 2 hours just for the privilege of someone making you a meal? Little things like that add up over time.Gary Johnson

Yes, it sucks. But it can be done. Just gotta be smart and budget, shop for deals on groceries, limit going out etc.
I work 32 at a little more than you and go to school. I still manage to eat healthy, lift, pay my bills, and invest 10% in 401k.
My advice if you want to lift and live on this is to find a basic diet you can stick to that you can buy cheap, then just splurge on some other stuff when you can. Oats, PB, eggs, chicken breast, beans, rice, wheat wraps, hot sauce, whatever fruit and veggies are on sale/cheap and a multi. Always buy meat on sale and freeze it. Make sure to look for manager special stuff that is close to hitting it's shelf date. Hit up groupon if you want to go on dates, a lot of time you can find deals to nice local places, 2 for one deals on event tickets etc., if the bish doesn't like it she can suck it.
EDIT: Drinking is the number one killer of money, guaranteed. Limit yourself on this. Get a bottle of wine, pizza and a movie for you and a special lady instead of being an ATM at the bar. Know where the drink specials are if you must club.

Yes...but you'll have to learn to cook if you don't already and exclusively shop the store brand. I'd also look in to the cheapest phone plan available (no data)...can't really do anything about the rest besides opting for a bus pass/car pooling.
You should look in to a second job because at 1200 before taxes...1 emergency and you're screwed, for example a flat tire. Can't exactly run on a spare forever. This is assuming you have no other financial support.
Better start donating blood. The Jerk store called, they're running out of you!

location: ontario. where the fuk do you live brah?
op: it's doable if you go to texas or some obscure midwest/southern state that no one s about like mississipi. I've heard $500/month in those places can get you a nice pad
school brahs, how do you work 20+ hours a week and while going to school? You have ~4 hours * 4 classes = 16 hrs of classes a week. that leaves about 10 hours of hw/studying a week too. your life must suck right now( ͡ಠ ͜ʖ ͡ಠ) That's life son ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
