    Thanks for all the replies and support.

    Like you all said, it is frustrating.

    I may get a dxa scan towards the end of the year just to show her I'm not that skinny.

    that won't convince her if she's stubborn...which most people are. i could balloon myself up to 160-170 lbs in a couple months easy and i'd still have many people telling me i'm too skinny...even if i showed them caliper or other BF testing results...they'd just be like, 'well you're built that way' or some BS...

    we're all precious little snowflakes built to be chubby and/or obese...freakin' A lol.

    12% -> 10% (can see all abs, huge vein running up bicep, way more muscle definition) "you got HUGE, what's your routine? You look great, etc etc." In reality, I'm even smaller than before lol.
    Hahaha so true. When you go lean, you gotta go all the way or bust.

    After the whole breakup thing what I did with myself became completely up to me... I decided I wanted to see abs, and that I wouldn't stop until I got there. Disregarded everything anyone said to me, and knew what I wanted to achieve... Also realized that 95% of the population has no idea what they are talking about when they say you are getting too skinny.

    I think the big thing here is that the general population is naiive. Here is what I experienced during my cut, for the most part.

    10% -> 8% (Still working on this)

    I think the point I'm making is that most people think 8-10% BF looks very good, but they also think that 17% looks better than 13% because you look bigger/stronger without much difference in terms of definition. Most people don't realize you have to go through a period of looking smaller to start looking bigger/better.

    My Ex used to tell me I'd always have a gut too, that I probably just wasn't genetically prone to having abs, and that I should just lift and get bigger. Do what you want to do, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Set your goals based on what makes you happy and follow through on it. I'm happier than I've ever been with my body because I ignored everyone and cut down to the BF I want. Feelsgoodman.jpg

    Some people are also insecure and/or jealous. Caught my brother's GF saying she wants him to remain overweight so she doesn't have to worry about other girls as much. Strong WTF, wonder if that's what my Ex was doing too? Either way, ignore the "too skinny" BS and do what makes you happy.

    I hate this ****. I've been getting it lately as I'm creeping under 15%. A couple of people at work and my mom has been saying I'm too skinny. I try explaining that I'm not too skinny and actually like 13-14% bodyfat and want to get down to around 10% before adding mass they just keep saying..."but your waist size...you're a 32, that's too skinny."

    I wouldn't count on it. But instead of being skinny fat you'll just be skinny with more detail.

    Assuming you have enough muscle for definition and experience/genetics for vascularity.

    Im starting to get alot more vascularity now , forearms , biceps , all over the chest etc. and the wife thinks its gross ><
    Just a heads up incase your gf dont like vascularity hzac. The improved detail on the muscles is a definit pleasant thing that the wife likes, I guess the nice norwegian winter tan (blindingly white) combined with vascularity dun look the best

    I did it for 8; you should keep going. Although I did have my first break ~3-6 months in for a week, and a second break for 2 weeks. I ate maintenance.

    aware.

    not much she can do but deal with it really, i got that talk when i first started getting into shape and it was just because they werent used to 'seeing shoulder blades' etc apparently. Doubt that was the case at 180 lbs, 18% bf.

    Lol, this is so true, guise. As I moved from 187lb to 170lb I got a lot of 'What's wrong with you? Are you sick? Everything is all right? When I am around 159-160 (as I am now: 4pack clearly visible, good vascularity) I get stared at when in tank top (esp after the gym) and new gf says that I shouldn't get 'more muscles' and that I am great just this way, which is funny because I am almost 30lb smaller than I used to be.

    I am sure the fact that my waist went from 37" to 29" and my arms stayed around the same 14.5-15" helped. Tear gym apart while on a diet and you will lose fat in all the right places

Most people don't realize that you have to get very lean to be shredded, and there will be a time in between shredded and "big" where you seem to get smaller/lose muscle even though what you're losing is just the fat that's causing the muscle to look bigger.

    18% -> 14% (little definition added, still layer of fat covering muscle) "you're getting smaller, too skinny"
    Makes it somewhat difficult to stay motivated, because definition seems so far away, and you feel smaller, but STICK WITH IT, you know what you want.

    14% -> 12% (slight definition added, still belly fat, not a lot of ab def) "you're getting even smaller, I can see your ribs, still no abs, not possible etc etc"

    12% -> 10% (can see all abs, huge vein running up bicep, way more muscle definition) "you got HUGE, what's your routine? You look great, etc etc." In reality, I'm even smaller than before lol.

    10% -> 8% (Still working on this)

    10/10 real life story, amazing. Anything is possible guys, keep going.

    Great post!

    This is what prevented me from going below 13/14% on my first cut, constant complaints of "you're too skinny etc etc"

    Then when I (eventually) dropped closer to 10% "Omg I never knew you were so big. How fast did you gain all that muscle?" etc etc Mind you this is "normal" people talking
