So following the advice of Louie Simmons, i decided to start box squatting for speed reps once per week. I've read before that your supposed to use 10-12 sets of 2, with 40-60% of your 1rm (for geared lifters) and 70-85% for raw lifters. Question is, since your 1rm is going to different for the box squat then the conventional squat, which one do you base your percentages off of? My guess is the box squat itself, but i would like to know for sure.

If the lifts are close then it doesn't matter. But if you're box squatting correctly you should be moving about 10% less weight probably.
I'd start low for my first 3 week wave and just use straight weight as well.
Maybe try 60% for 12 sets of 2, 65% for 10 sets of 2, 70% for 8 sets of 2.
See how your speed is, and adjust from there. If you're using too much weight and lose speed, you aren't benefitting from it.
