    I think of all the things that have pissed me off in the past and present. The gym has become my addiction because of the release of stress you get from letting out that anger. Hope this helps.

    This. It sounds simple but just telling yourself "Ok, I'm at the gym, time to work." I don't feel the need to rage out and scream at the weights or anything. I find it quite easy to get into the zone.

    ^This. I just focus on the gym and what lifts I have for the day. Keep it simple. If I feel I need that extra push, the background of my iPod is a pic of me 3 years ago when I was overweight with a girl that screwed me over, so that is plenty motivating when it's needed.
    Progressive overload + progressive eating = gains. Simple as that!
