for 6 reps. take into account i'm 5'7", 155 lbs. i just started doing db bench a few weeks ago and started at 80 lbs and have been moving up weekly. i think i'll hit dem 100s soon. i platood on the regular bench at 205x6 so i thought i'd give the dbs a try to break through it.

dumbbells
thx brahs. funny thing is when i first attempted 90s a few weeks ago i couldn't even get them up because my left tricep gave out and the dumbbell damn near crushed me. this was with a spotter too lol. no i can do 90 for sets. i think my stabilizer muscles have gotten stronger. will try 95s next week and hopefully 100s soon after!

most people with average genetics and decent training/diet habits are putting up 85s on incline within a few months.
When I first hit the gym I was a chubby 165 and I couldn't even put up the 40s.
Not so long ago that I hit 115x12 on incline. Flat feels like more strain on my shoulder so I avoid it.

If you just started doing DB presses for the first time I'll say that youve had a gym membership for about a month maybe two and your form is impressively ****ing terrible on both DB or BB. I watch r-tards everyday grab 120 lbs and do 1/5th ROM on DB flat then jump up and high five each other. It looks as dumb as it sounds.

Prior to Navy basic training, I was at 200 pounds doing 110s for 5, 100s for 10, and 85s for 15. Now I can barely get 80s for 8, feelsbadman...
90 is good, especially for your size. Most people here on bb.com should know Dbs are harder, but when I talk to people on base they think I'm weak for doing 80s. 80+80=160=weak. Right....___.0_0_0.

yea i don't get help on the first rep. i just like someone there just incase lol. i can get up the weight by myself though
nah i think my form is pretty good. i don't lock out at the top by bringing the weights together though. is that bad? i do have pretty good range of motion, just don't touch the weights
