Hang in there, you will succeed I know it! U have been cutting for quite some time so I am sure it gets harder and harder to stay the path. Surround yourself with positive influence and thoughts. Tell your wife to make you feel guilty as hell if you wanna cheat on your diet. My wife is so good at it when I am prepping that even if I wanna have a little cheat I can't do it with her around. Accountability not only to yourself but to others will help with this.
Also, u have us! . If u r having a hard time of things, read some logs here for inspiration, look at some pics or hey, email me. I can give you my cell # too so u can reach me even quicker if a situation comes up and u need support or guidance.
We will win this!

Thanks for the support guys. It does get harder the longer you do it. The catch 22 of it is seeing the scale go down is the biggest motivation I have and I'm ruining my own motivation making it even harder. I feel like I've been stuck in the 250's to 260's for forever!
Anyway. I was not motivated at all to hit the gym today but I did it anyway and hit 225 on squat for six reps which is what I finally consider a decent starting weight.

So for my birthday today my wife made me a "birthday cake" of sugar free jello with sugar free cool whip. And my mom brought over a "birthday cake" of cauliflower and broccoli lol. Had a small dish of jello and two heads of broccoli and just one small piece of cauliflower with walden farms calorie free ranch dressing. So glad everyone is supporting me. Here's a pic of my birthday treat.

Thanks, it is nice that they're supporting me. I can always see it in their faces though that they're waiting for me to fail, especially my brothers. It's just the way my family is, and I've given them no reason not to think that with all the yoyoing that I've done over the years.

Noone understands the work it takes to be so discipline and noone will ever understand why we do what we do. Just imagine what there face is going to look like when youre shredded on stage flexin on them
It wasnt until i brought pre packed meals to family gatherings that people knew i meant business.
Happy belated birthday.
I would smash that little dessert. Healthy or not it looked pretty dang good!

You get used to it like others said, but it does get tedious. My parents are always like, "you on that 'diet' again?" Yes, mom....again
My first prep I would carry around ziploc bags of boiled chicken breast and almonds and pull them out every 3 hours or so to eat. Many times in the middle of meetings. Strange looks for sure. For all the sacrifice and crap we have to deal with, I promise you that the feeling of achievement at the end of the road is more than worth it and will stick with you forever.

Today's back workout felt really solid. Upped the weight on pretty much everything but my db rows. I did 48 minutes of cardio today to make up for the last two days of not getting any cardio in. I also took a page out of Stan's play book and did several different types of cardio.
10 minutes treadmill 15 incline 4.0 speed (warm up)
12 minutes elliptical level 13 fat burn program
14 minutes recumbant bike level 10
12 minutes treadmill 15 incline 4.0 speed
Wide grip lat pull down
110x10
110x10
110x10
Superset with db rows
65x10
65x10
65x10
Bent over row
70x12
80x10
90x8
100x6
Dead lift
135x12
185x10
215x8
235x6
Straight arm pulldown
50x12
50x12
50x12
I also did a few sets of the back extension thingy where it holds your heels and you bend over and raise back up. Anything to strengthen my lower back.TEAM DEMON

Tell me about it. I told my brother today that I wouldn't be eating anything but the food I bring with me and he got mad at me. I've always been the fat one in the family and he's always been the smallest. Well I'm only 20 lbs away from him now and he's not happy about it. All the more reason for me to push past him even quicker!

That's the spirit, a little sibling rivalry never hurt anyone. That's unfortunate though if he was truly mad about you bringing your own food. I understand that to some extent it can hurt other people's feelings by not eating food they take the time to prepare, so I always make it a point to be as outgoing and pleasant at such gatherings so to make people forget about the food and show them you can have just as good a time by eating healthy, prepared meals and still enjoy time together.

Gotcha. Well a little tip, coming from experience, is definitely don't make others feel bad for stuffing their face with crap. My wife's side of the family are alot of big people and yeah, they eat poorly majority of the time. They rib me now and again for my diet when I'm prepping, but I always take the high road and don't throw it back in the face, pointing out the horrible food they are eating and their large waistlines.

Bleh! Just did my measurements and nothing has changed in over a month. Very disappointed to say the least. I know my weight hasn't changed much inthat time but I was really expecting to see some size difference from the lifting.

If it makes you feel better I have been bulking for over a month and my size hasn't increased at all, just got fatter it seems. Adding muscle is a crazy slow process. It's also extremely difficult to build muscle when eating in a caloric deficit most of the time. I wouldn't expect to see any size gains so long as you are continuing to cut, it's just not going to happen.
