UFC has already peaked and is heading downhill rapidly. Their Ultimate Fighter show is getting horrible ratings and risks being cancelled. The only fights that fans really want to see are superfights and will be at catchweights (Silva vs. GSP, Silva vs. Jones) after that it's all over. MMA was a fad just like WWF was during the Attitude Era. I can't see UFC being this big in two years. They are declining rapidly. Dana White better hold onto his underpants.

I tend to agree. UFC peaked in 08/09, Dana's inability to put the superfights together has hurt the sport lately (silva GSP) (silva shogun) (silva jones)
The talent is spread too thin over too many cards that are all $60+
Nobody cares about the weight classes under LW, just because its a Flyweight titlefight does not mean you can slack on the rest of the card's talent and get away with it, HW, LHW, MW, WW, maybe but not under LW.
Rogan is outdated and annoying. When fans boo he acts personally insulted, and goes on a tirade on what true MMA fans should want to see. Sorry, but the fact is casual fans are the main part of your business model moving forward, and to appeal to casual fans you need to do better than a 5 round hug fest. In fact, their entire live production feels outrageously outdated. They need a drastic change to their business model and production quality, and make the big fights everyone wants to see happen. Even consider changing the rules, implement a play clock for ground game. People will initially complain the UFC will be too far removed from real fighting if a ground game play clock is implemented but the truth is it already IS very far removed from real fighting.
UFC turned into a combat sport a long time ago and we all know combat sports and fighting is like comparing apples to oranges.Last edited by CLEAN_SET_OF_10; 11-04-2012 at 07:04 AM.

Strong wrestling knowledge...
WWF was big for more than 30 years...
Brb Bruno Summartino, Bob Backlund
Then in the mid 80`s... Brb Hulk Hogan, the biggest name of all time in Wrestling, more than 10 years before the Attitude Era
Then brb Yokozuna, every kid in school knew that name.
Then brb Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, etc...
Then brb Attitude Era
Then brb Ruthless Aggression Era which went a little downhill
Then brb the Cena era, which had the most profitable year in WWE history...
Brb last Wrestlemania was the biggest of all time...
Again, strong knowledge brah...

I hope you realise that UFC is not a sport.
UFC is far from done. The UFC will get back. It's not the first time for UFC to peak then fall in popularity. It will rise again, I have no doubt about that. I do agree that cards have been ****ty lately but GSP is injured, Dos Santos had couple of injuries there are some good fights on the way. And the new guys always pop up. Just like machida popped up out of nowhere, Jon Jones, JDS etc.

I agree. They need to put title fights on Fox to really gain people's attention. Also getting a deal with HBO or something to have the PPV fights air a week later would be great. The free fights are pretty crappy and the PPV fights have been bad lately.

It's definitely on the decline. This "fastest growing sport" nonsense is a flat out lie. It has far less viewers and many of the sports bar owners I know don't carry the crappy ppv's any more. It's a sport who's core demo = 24 year old douche bags who are arrested adolescents and have the emotional maturity of 12 year olds. MMA is never even mentioned on sports radio. It's a non factor in the sports world.
Good bye MMA.
Dana White**** took what could have been cool and filled it with douche bags, makeup and *******ry.R.I.P. Hector Bluntz
