Post How often to work on abs?

I've read that you can work on them every day and others say they should be trained like any other body part... So?

    lol wot, shut up. Noobs.

You don't need a core specific day, if you flex your core for all your compounds that enough is a good core workout.

Abs can be worked out everyday, 7-6 days a week. It depends on your lifestyle and body type. Ex, some people muscle rebuilds faster than others. If your a meso, than you should be able to work them out every day.

Abs are made with a proper diet. I used to work on my abs everyday and they were showing but not as much as I wanted them to. I soon as I found the right diet my abs started to pop. I've seen more progress by working them out 3 times a week as opposed to 7, but I think you can go either way on this, you just need to focus on your diet.

Really you should worry about putting on some size and abs will come later. But to answer your question abs can be worked everyday.

I hit abs like 3 days a week, often with some sort of high rep exercise like hanging leg raises; I find it's a great way to warm up and get the blood flowing before I hit some bigger weights.

Personally, I train core about 6 days a week. It really just depends on how your program is structured and what your goals for your abdomen are. If you just want a stable and strong core, I would just recommend getting in compound movements (ex. squats) to stabilize and strengthen your core. But if you are looking for more definition and worried about the detail of the muscle, I would work in a short 5-10 quick ab routine to isolate the smaller muscles of the core such as your obliques and intercostals. Hope this helps.

train it in the rep range you'd use for anything else with heavy weight. No need to train abs 6 days a week with a few sets of crunches or whatever, what the phuck is that going to do?
