Yes the aggies were great for the SEC. Thank god they knocked off south carolina, leaving Georgia with a new opportunity to make the SEC championship game.

Colorado used to have a top notch football program. I remember when they won the national championship. Utah, though, is kind of a head scratcher. Would have rather seen Boise State or BYU take that spot.
Texas A&M was actually considering joining the (then) Pac-10 for a while. Didn't make much geographical sense, though.★DSC★

I don't know much about college football. And I don't know much about Texas A&M other than they have a badass Corps of Cadets (CoC) that produces some of the best officers I've met in the Army. Their 4th class system is tougher than the Service Academies, and they have the best Drill Team in the world.
You know the beginning of the movie "Few Good Men" where they showed the Marine Corps Drill Team? They were not real Marines. They were actually college students from Texas A&M CoC.
I'm at work and I can't post youtube footage, so if anybody would like to post the drill that I'm talking about.
Sorry for the derail. Carry on..This above all..

Notre Dame would have to lose first. And I wouldn't at all be surprised to see a one-loss Alabama team jump an undefeated or two. It's happened before. Although, to be honest, I wan't impressed by their effort against LSU or A&M. They have tradition and sentiment on their side, though.

It was strange to see them so vulnerable these past two games. I guess I bought into them more than I should have.
It's easy to be armchair quarterback but I'm surprised they didn't try to run it in. It was first and goal on the 7 yard line with 4 downs. It was theirs to win.2 + 2 = 5 (for extremely large values of 2)
Try SCE to AUX

I am going to defend Alabama here. The important thing is that they won the game last week vs. LSU. That game took a lot out of them physically and emotionally. It is really hard to bounce back from a game like last week. It has happened to me/us in high school. I would imagine it would be at least twice as hard in college football.

I'm not even a big enough NCAA fan to know how overrated ALA was. I feel LSU is too. Can't wait for a playoff. I wish they'd have gone straight to an 8 or 16 team format, though like D2 and D3. No reason ALA couldn't come back to win the national championship this year in that kind of format..
Will be interesting. I would think ND had their scare last week and should handle BC tonight. We shall see.

I agree. Hell, even a two or three loss team could win it all, the reason being is scheduling. Most major colleges purposefully schedule cupcake non-coference games. It is not how you start, it's how you finish.
Probably not going to happen since he is a freshman, but I do agree, he desrves consideration.I like to ride my horses and shoot my guns

Alabama fan checking in. Gonna give all the props to A&M for that win. They came in and did what they had to do. Played the better game and deserved the win. Bama did make some questionable calls. I could not figure out why we weren't running more on a team that clearly could not consistently stop the run. But still, congrats to A&M and their fans. Johhny M is a hell of a football player.
As for the other SEC fans just happy to see someone else do what they couldn't (especially bitter LSU fans), no respect.

Yet, it's strength of schedule that gets you high in the computer rankings. Oregon had Kansas State coming to Autzen Stadium to open the season, but the K-State brass backed out because they didn't want to start off with a loss. That's what bit Oregon last year. They opened the season against LSU, lost, and could never catch back up.
Will be vindication for the Ducks if Kansas State ends up having to play them anyway!

I have a feeling Coach Kelly is just resting some starters for the Stanford game next week, and Oregon State after that. I'll bet a lot of the "injured" guys could go if needed. But the injuries they are picking up in the game are worrying me a little bit. I don't think Barner can catch passes with that injured wrist, and Patterson looks done. That's going to be a huge loss.
