I'm mixed about this. I would love to see Oregon vs Bama as I think that would be a fun game, but if ND does play for the NT my hope is they get exposed for who they are...a good team with a below average schedule that for some reason the pollsters love and overrate every year. I wouldn't be suprised if they played Bama if they weren't two td underdogs in that game.
Remember ND still has USC on their schedule, which is not an easy win.

I don't know about USC vs. Notre Dame, now that Barkley is likely going to be out. Alabama vs Georgia is going to be intersting. Georgia can suddenly pass the ball this year. I think this game will be a toss up. They will be playing for the SEC championship, so I don't think these two teams will play each other again.

Pretty sure at this point that the winner of the SEC championship is a lock. Hoping ND loses next week, and then see what happens. Oregon lost a close game to a ranked opponent, while KSU got blown out by a so-so team. Ducks play another ranked team next week, and then the Pac-10 championship game, if Stanford loses to UCLA next week. We'll have to see how far Oregon drops tomorrow, as they were human poll favorites.
If ND loses, I think it will come down to Florida or Oregon to play the SEC champ. If ND wins, it's them vs. SEC champ, no question. Which the SEC should win easily.★DSC★

I agree. Sorry was late should have said that as well. I think at this point the SEC champ is a lock for the title game. I also agree that if ND does stay undefeated and remains 1 they will get clobbered by Bama or Georgia. My hopes are that we see Bama and the Ducks because the game should be good. ND vs anyone in the top 10 really shouldn't be close IMO.
Oh and how fortunate for ND...they don't play a championship game...because they refuse to join a conference so they can play their big rivals Navy

Notre Dame has barely beat a lot worse teams than USC this year. I watched Oregon State destroy BYU, and then the next week, BYU nearly had ND's number. No disrespect to fans of the Fighting Irish, but that team is seriously overrated. I agree that, even if they get by USC, they will be demolished by Alabama or Georgia.

To be honest, I have not seen many Notre Dame or Oregon games. I am going on strength of schedule. Notre Dame barely beat some pretty bad teams. I don't think anybody can stop Lacey, maybe slow him down. Texas A&M beat Bama with their offense, so I think Oregon would give Bama a better game.

I haven't watched much Oregon, but I've watched a fair amount of ND. They have character and now that Golson has the fulltime job(and isn't getting switched out with Reis), I think he has began to come into his own. Tons of potential - athletic and can sling the ball. Their defense is pretty solid and Te'o has an intoxicating effect on that defense. Either way, I think Bama is the best team in the nation(admittedly, I have a SEC bias).

True, I have not seen much of Norte Dame to make a fair judgement, not that I am a football guru lol. Bama still has to face Georgia in the title game and Georgia can toss the rock pretty good. I still think Bama will win that game, but it wouldn't surprise me if Georgia pulled off an upset.
