OP did you rly just suggest that an Asian country is more "human" than the west? Brah half the Asian countries have zero regard for human life or the environment...

Right so Asians like Chinese and Japanese and Taiwanese (I could easily become a superstar in Taiwan BTW - I have double folding eyelids) all of the traditional Asian culture has that same thing in common: communism, quietness, lack of respect for life, everyone being a quiet clone of each other, taking things ultra serious, being selfishly hateful and awkwardly inhuman, socially immature etc....
all those things ^^^ that we traditionally stereotype to Asians...
Well South Koreans are less like that. Its like they have Asian bodies, but their brains are more like Western culture and they have more self awareness and their behavior and culture is more human.
I would never listen to Chinese music. Or even to Japanese music for the reasons above, I have nothing in common with them.
But Korean culture is not as inaccessibly Asian like that, and it makes sense why K-Pop is so awesome even though its coming from an Asian nation.

For some reason, there are a lot of K-idols that are Christian and quite openly talk about going to church, praying and all that other junk.

And North Korea is probably the single most religiously fanatic country in the world, Kim Il Sung is their god and is still the head of state as far as anyone inside NK is concerned.

If your first reaction is pain, you have a simpletons mind. Theres nothing wrong with the music besides that its different from what you are comfortable with as a consumerist tool.
You are just... one of those simple types of people that cant process what is there to appreciate.
Dont talk like your uneducated opinion is valid or relevant.
Anyway, millions of people all over the world are into it. The average American is aware of it and has seen videos. Many girls like to see videos from the guy groups and have crushes on them and many fans of the girls have a fetish for that too. If you ask the average younger person if they know about K-Pop they can name a couple groups.
The phenomenon already happened all last year.

Correction:
The growth of Christianity was gradual until 1945 when about 2% were Christian. A rapid growth of Christianity ensued. As of 1991, 54% of the South Korean population identified themselves as religious. The influence on education has been decisive as Christians started 293 schools and 40 universities including 3 of the top 5 academic institutions. Protestantism is seen as the religion of the middle class, youth, intellectuals, and urbanites, and has been central to South Korea's pursuit of modernity and emulation of the United States.
Correction:
Mongoloid specifically refers to populations that share certain phenotypic traits such as epicanthic fold and shovel-shaped incisors.

actually they are homophobic. asia is still very conservative in that sense. they just have a different sense of style. in america being flashy and flamboyant is sort of a homosexual thing to do. standing out in america is not something you want. american culture is about assimilating as well as you can.
decent write up. k-pop seems to be only big in the large city areas with a lot of asians like nyc and la. why didn't you mention older big bang songs or hyori lee? they're sort of responsible for the blow up of k-pop."If I hit my mom back I'd be dead" - Ronnie Coleman

I have over the past couple years become bored with Rap, Indie Rock and Urban Pop/Pop.
All I ever seem to be in the mood to listen to anymore is Trance/EDM and K-Pop.
The rest have become uninteresting to me, Ive seen it all. K-Pop is different enough of an exotic world that it keeps me fascinated and still triggers my imagination once in a while because its so different and unique.
It takes a lot to keep my brain interested in something.

Japanese live in their own exclusive world and dont really make stuff that would appeal to me.
Yeah they are both Asian and exotic but they are worlds appart. JPop doesnt have any of the cultural nuances and relevancies the way the more evolved and modern K-Pop has which is why one is a global phenomenon and the other is only localized.
