I am coming up on the 6th week of the Soviet Strength Program with The Strength Guys. I will be testing my deadlift and bench press max set next week after a few days of resting up. I still have one or two more sessions of 3 main lifts. So far my training has been focused on getting better at all 3 lifts while focusing on reptition work, speed work, and occasionaly some maximal work on bench.
Still a 20lb PR and all that I need is a nother 20lbs and I will be at a goal that has been on my list for 7 years
[b]Today is my last session of bench and squats until my max test Monday or Tuesday

Must be busy as hell with the house and the dog huh? Get some Diesel pics up in here too if you have time!
No particular PL meet planned, but I do plan to hit one up in the early Fall maybe? I will post info about that!
Like you stated, mostly busy with the house, dog, cat, training, eating, etc.. I read the boards daily, but I am just so wore out after that I am done.
Haha I aint going no where, just might be a bit slow from time to time.
Here he is at his last vet, 16 weeks old and 50lbs
Also this was torwards the beginning of my programs last month, fifth set of 5, same weight throughout
You got a great set of glutes and abs chap. Goodluck in bringing V3.0
Yes sir, not sure about the abs because of the fatz loaded over them right now, lol.

Yes sir, sometimes I get the hankerin for a high bar. I don't plan it, but I do sometimes make the switch based on how much I have let flexibility become an issue.
How many cals are you eating now compared to in your avi?
Do you like the feeling of being bulkier, stronger, but slightly less mobile and endurance. vs thick/solid/tight shredded look, and being weaker but more mobile and endurance?
So after 6 weeks of hard training during this micro cycle I finally accomplished a 7 year goal. I have dreamed of this moment for a long time, for a few seconds of effort, but 7 yearsof constant training to build!!! Thanks for all that follows me, I hope I can keep showing that great genetics are not needed to build past a weak point!!!

ICWUDH so I wont bother, impressive results.
I am eating about about 14-1500 calories more than in my avi, which was during contest prep. Actually I think I look better as a whole right now or a few lbs lighter just because I am fuller, I look stronger, and women like that look a little better, especially when the guy is thick and no rolls of stomach fat like I dont have lol.
Honestly I dont like feeling shredded, but I enjoy the look much more during warm summer months, and tank top seasons. I like how I look about half way through. I actually, according to my wilks score iwas much stronger during my diet than I am now. Layne and and Matt Jansen from TSG taught me how to maintain strength and proper periodization through my diets to maintain or improve everything while in a deficit.
As far as mobile and more endurance, I am a pretty lazy guy. SO on that note I do not feel any difference in mobility and endurance. My girlfriend and I go like wild fire almost daily and I do just fine with breathing
So since I accomplished 75lbs on my bench/deadlift total in 6 weeks The Strength Guys and I are planning to let me rest for a few days, and then get back on the horse to ride into success. My goal for bench has finally been met, and i want to improve it no doubt it's just now a slow and steady race with it to bigger numbers. I am only 25lbs away from a 700lbs deadlift, and I believe I am just some weak point training away from getting that. 700lbs is my goal on my next training cycle, while improving my squat even more, and improving or keeping my bench 400+
Once I get my program from TSG I will post a little about the game plan approach that is soon to come for me.
I took a few days after maxing and the strength guys had me a new structured plan to reach my next set of goals. I am focusing on a few weak points since I am pretty close to hitting a max, we want to make sure I am stronger and that I can work through a sticky spot!!!
This workout was brutal!!!
Reverse band squats. Work up to an RPE of 9!!!
500x5
585x5
585x3
Squats 90%
545x3, 3
545x1
Speed deadlifts
385x5, 5, 5, 5, 5
Bench press 2:x:1
275x8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8, 8
Tricep extensions 2:2:1
4 sets of 12 (30 second rest)
I have yet to find one on squats, ever. Sooo we are just overloading the top with reverse bands, since I know I am strong out of the bottom.
Deadlifts I think my lockout needs to be stronger. I have great speed from the bottom but my form loosens easy once I start maxing. I think building up around mid way will train me to be stronger to pull through regardless if my structure throws me off as it always has. Short legs, long torso is not great for pulling!!!
Bench I am not very sure yet. Its always been right about 3/4 up. I'm going to do a lot of floor presses, amd heavy!!!
1700 raw total in november is my goal. Bodywright low 220's weight class.
