help me make sense of this label

    It is a fiber pill.

    16 calories
    Total Carb - 4g
    Dietary Fiber - 4g
    Soluble Fiber - 4g

Ingredients - Acacia, inulin, sorbitol, starch, cellulose, magnesium stearate, citric acid, green tea, flavor (yeah that is what it says...), FD&C Red 40 Aluminum lake, sucralose, chromium polinicotinate.

Is this keto friendly? I've heard sugar alcohols aren't (I also have a different fiber supplement that clearly states sugar alcohols on it, this one doesn't). But then that you are supposed to count Carbs minus fiber. So I could eat fiber pills with every meal since the grams of sugar alcohol = grams of fiber?

And I do eat sources of natural fiber. It's just that sometimes since the keto diet is so meat heavy I end up eating a meal of just meat and it would be nice to add fiber with a pill.

Also, feel free to suggest a fiber supplement that is keto friendly if these aren't. So far I haven't found any without sugar or sugar substitutes.

I don't care for sugar alcohols much. Tend to give me gas, and I tested them a few times, they did raise my blood glucose.

Psyllium Husk is a good fiber supp.

I count my calories and only eat keto-friendly foods. I try and get a good balance of greens, meat, nuts, and cheese. I don't have a macro for fiber. In my opinion, you can't have enough of it (at least a large amount of supplementation, which I would not do).

Thanks man! That looks like a good fiber with no added sugar. I haven't tried ketosticks so I have no idea what effect they have on me. If I can just get a supplement that I know is keto friendly then I won't mess around with the questionable ones.

No need to either. They are unreliable and frustrating. Just keep the carbs low and you'll be in keto. Though, I have been guilty of using them a lot in the past. I tested the sugar alcohols with a blood glucose meter. I can't remember the readings I got, but I do remember the spike was high enough I decided not to eat them anymore.
