Results!
Hey everyone sorry for the delay! I ended up going to a chinese buffet then had some random food after and passed out early. Didnt help that I got no sleep the night before either lol.
So I will post some pics when I get to a computer but just thought I would post this update for Stans sake
So Friday night I had the athlete meeting, it was more of a registration. Just got weighed in, handed in music and bio, got my number and also a goodie bag with a free t shirt and bunch of other stuff. For the weigh in it was done clothes on and sort of guestimated. Im guessing because there is a huge gap between weight classes it didn't really matter as long as you fall within range. I was weighed in at 168 and put in the Middleweight category.
After registration I headed over to hotel next door to get my bronzer tan on my face and to register for tanning for show day. Once that was done I headed back home, ate the remaining carbs I had left and probably didnt go to sleep till like 1 or 2.
The next day I woke up, had some almond granola and a muscle milk that I got from goodie bag. Packed a bag with everthing i needed (chocolate bars, rice cakes, water to sip on, ect.) then hit the road!
When I got to the venue I went to back and found where they were doing tanning. Once I got my tan I looked in my bag and realized I had forgot my number! I called my girlfriend and asked her to bring it and come as soon as possible. I ended up getting a replacement though so it was all good, but as if I forgot the one thing I needed!!
The line up for my class was just 3 in the middleweight. I was hoping for a bigger class but then again this was my first show so it worked out good. The way this show went was that the pre judging and finals were done at same time because there was a separate "Elite" night show.
So first time I got called up I went on with 3 middleweights and 3 lightweights. It was an awesome feeling going out there, I thought I was going to be nervous but it was not like that at all. It was a great experience!. Going through the mandatorys I felt confident with, although there were times I forgot to flex my legs or at least I didnt realize that I was or not. It went well and had a posedown at the end which was fun!
The next time I went up was for my routine. I used the song "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons an funny enough a competitor I was talking to backstage sai he was using same song! His routine also sounded similar to mine which was pretty funny. He had his routine first and it looked great. When I went to do mine I got the first part down then the rest I just went with it. I ended up repeating some things and to me it felt off but of course everyone else said it looked good but I wasnt too sure lol.
Finally it was the awards, got called up for middleweight and we went through some mandatories then headed to back of stage then they called out the places. I ended up placing first which was an awesome feeling! After that all the 1st place winners from each weigh division went to front of stage and we went through a whole round of judging. The judges took a few minutes to make their decision and the heavyweight winner with great conditioning got the overall. He definitely deserved it and he looked great.
After the show I ended up going on a bit of a binge and woke up today at 176lbs! Was probably around 165 yesterday. Ah well it will go back down im sure
Some thoughts from the show is that everyone was so nice and supportive. There was no tension and everyone helped each other. Really great environment. I applaude UFE for putting on such a great show. I had a lot of fun and will continue to compete with this organization!
I ordered a judges report and also professional stage shots so looking forward to those!
Anyway thats it for now i will post some pics soon!On the Gain Train!

Glad everything went well and a 1st place trophy doesn't hurt either
Your feelings on how the other competitors act back stage is the typical response I hear. There aren't too many huge egos backstage as those inflated personalities tend to stay in the gym and lack the confidence or desire to compete. There really is a nice sportsmanship amongst competitors which makes this sport even more enjoyable.
Great work!!

I have attached some pics, these pics were taken from family members however I do have professional pics coming, so once I get those I will post those as well .
Line up of lighweight and middleweights
Myself and the other 2 middleweights, front double Bi
Back double bi
1st place trophy!
Line up of top 4, guy on far left won the overall
Line up again
I will post more pictures when I get them in, but this is it in a nutshell. I think my back didn't quite pop out, so my back I definitely need to work on. I ordered a judges report so I will know for sure what they thought I needed improvement, but I gotta focus on getting thickness to my back. My plan for off season is to take a year off and compete in an Elite show with UFE, I am thinking Halloween Havoc which will also give me an excuse to go to the US!
Thanks again for everyones support! Please provide feedbackOn the Gain Train!

Thanks Stan! Havoc is in Dearborn, Michigan. My plan now is to compete in next year Showdown but in the Elite show OR do they North American Championship Elite Show, depending on how I am looking. I wanted to this year but I didn't think I was ready for it and I think if I at least take the next 8 months to do a nice clean bulk I should be able to cut down nicely for the show next June. If not then I will just push it to November, while possible doing another Open show for some practice.

Plan moving forward
So just wanted to say again thanks to everyone that supported me on here! I appreciate everything and look forward to continue posting on here and sharing my journey here.
So for now my plan is to reverse diet till I hit my maintenance, then slowly add in calories and aim to gain .5-1lb a week. Reason being is that I want to maintain a relatively low body fat percentage so that when I cut down for a show the next time I won't have so much to lose. Seems simple enough but I know it can be tough, which is why I am going to not go super crazy and track all of my macros, rather than a specific diet plan.
I am going to make a new thread for my off season, however just to give you a general idea I will be doing the 5/3/1 plan with the Bodybuilding accessory movements (3-4 exercises, 4 sets, 10-20 reps). I am also going to include 2 HIIT sessions a week and track weekly progress then adjust from there.
Will post up full plan tomorrow in new thread!
Thanks again and hope to see you all in my off season log!On the Gain Train!
