    increase biological value ?

    hello
i dont use dairy products and meat. but i eat egg or fish once a week. therefore i drink rice protein shakes every day. the biological value of rice protein is not the best and i was wondering if there is a way of increasing its value by eating products that contain much lysin like peanut or pea at the same time. i ve heard that when you eat rice with bean the BV of protein increases and is almost like whey isolat.
so when i mix rice protein powder with pea protein powder will this increase BV significantly or is there any better way ?

To experiment what food combinations will give you a better protein quality go to the nutritiondata website. If i remember correctly you have to sign up to make recipes. For rice and kidney beans the ideal ratio was about 2 : 1. Protein quality is a complex matter especially when it comes to the question which is optimal for muscle gains. BV is not the only way to meassure protein quality, there are others as well(PDCAA beeing the most reliable) . All have their issues, the major one is that they are based on the question what protein will meet human needs to survive, and that is different from the question "what is best to grow muscle".

Read Lyle Mcdonalds article, it covers some of this issue.

what-are-good-sources-of-protein-protein-quality (I can't post links yet, google it)

If you want a good plant based protein powder use soy isolate. IMO it is the best choice.
