I WILL NOT shop at Maomart, EVER!!
In other news, 15" of snow last night and this morning, not the second 1/2 is hitting us, thunder and lightning. I bet we get another 10" out of there. Went out with the kids and 3 snow throwers and made a grand each

There are people up here who make a tidy amount of money snow blowing and blowing.
I finally found a guy a half mile from me who will do it for $20 so long as it's on his schedule. The service that does it on my schedule is $80 to $100 each time.
They have 20-25 active accounts in each storm.
That's a nice piece of change... Of course it beats the hell out of your truck/blower/balls and they pretty much work 20 hours a day during storms/wind events etc...
YOu could charge a lot more in a state that doesn't have MN's infrastructure!

Depends... If you hit a neighborhood and no one else is prepared you can clean up.
Up here for a short suburban driveway it's not uncommon to charge $20-$30 a shot. (Then you have to shovel the walk to)
3 guys could knock out a suburban driveway FAST. Plow even faster.
My 850 foot driveway and my inner compound (Which is about 1/3 of an acre) It only takes the plow 20 mins6'4"

It all goes back to people are lazy bastards and will pay good money to sit in their house and beat their meat to porn and NOT have to go out and do manual labor, it's that simple. Some of the larger driveways were $80. I'm not doing YOUR work for cheap, I want it to be a little painful for you to be a lazy fukn bastard.

You do realize this means you'd have to operate machinery?
Last night my wife parked at the end of the driveway... She hiked back to the house through the woods and then I went out and blazed a canyon for her car to drive through.
At least this is my last winter without a plow truck!6'4"

I forgot the box of Girl Scout Cookies too. With 4 people going we could do even better. The kids worked their asses off yesterday and they were right back at it again today, we got another 6" overnight. I feel like I was run through the fukn snowblower and spat out in a pile of broken glass today, lol.

The warmth is FINALLY starting to break in here.
On a sad note...
One of my friends from HS is back in town.
He's been struggling with alcoholism for years... He called me up while I was at family pictures today. I let it go to voice mail. I called him back 2 hours later at 4 PM... He was absolutely wasted, barely able to speak. While I was talking to him he tripped and fell over his parents coffee table.
I'm probably a little sensitive to the issue after my Father in law JUST drank himself to death 2 weeks ago. Just sad to see the miracle of another human life going down the dark path.6'4"

You know full well that he isn't to the point of help yet. I used to work with a guy that couldn't function unless he was 1/2 in the bag. Shorty would drink a 6 pack on the way to the jobsite in the morning at OMFG:30. Dunno if he's even still alive. The liver is a most remarkable organ, but it can only take so much abuse before it gives up the ghost.
I started the last 6 trays last night since I felt like I was run over and dragged by a snowplow.

Damn... Burned out my electric heating coil in the furnace yesterday!
Luckily I've got the fuel oil back up to run on for a while.
In theory when I'm not busting out this major writing deadline, I'll be starting most of my peppers tonight.
My rule of thumb over the years is to start them the day after Valentines day. I ordered hungarian paprika to try for the first time... Still hasn't gotten here yet.
Also I wanted to try a different slicer tomato... I wasn't overly impressed with Abe Lincoln last year... While I perusing through the catalog I found one named Eva (Which is my daughter's name) so I ordered it.

Okay, so not sure how karma is gonna react to this one. I was driving around because I needed to get out of the house. Come accross 4 kids in a crappy Tiberon hopelessly stuck in a ditch on a gravel road. I test out the Silverado's mettle and pull them out......twice. dumbass kept the hammer down and went into the opposite ditch after I got him out of the first one. Bald tires not good enough for pavement, let alone an unplowed gravel. I thought from the get go that they seemed high on something, but they freakin offered me drugs as payment, then asked for directions. I called the cops on them. I fukin HATE druggies, and I don't want to be responsible if they kill someone on the roads.
The hardest part of a zombie apocalypse will be pretending I'm not excited.

Speaking of going into ditches...
Remember my story a while back about the kid who put it in the ditch and walked the wrong side of my fence line till he puked in the snow.
Guess who dropped it in my other ditch last night!
During the winter when there's no leaves on the trees I can see down the hill to the other side of the road. I was out grilling pork chops at the time.
His Dad drove down to pull him out. The truck had his wood chipper trailer behind it.
So his Dad GOES OFF... Which it is pretty unbelievable that this kid just keeps putting it in the ditch.
Chews him a new hole. Then hooks the tow strap up. I'm standing up on the hill watching and thinking "Boy that's a crazy long tow strap."
Too long it turns out... Backing up to pull him out he couldn't get the right angle. JACK KNIFED his trailer into the ditch so the truck and the car and the trailer were all trapped in the middle of the road.
I was debating if I should jump in my truck and pull them out, but it didn't seem like a very smart way to keep my own property safe. (Well and I had a few beers while grilling at that point)
Just as I was starting to feel guilty GRAND PA comes down from the shop with a beat up old 2 wheel drive Dodge truck. He chews both of them out. Then pulls everyone out... Then he says "Now if you two are done wipin' yer asses I'm going home!"
Apparently putting it in the ditch must be a family trait!6'4"
