Yeah for the 4-6 weeks before she gave birth I bought all kinds of random hunks of cheap meat on the bone and then simmered them down into marrow rich stocks for soups, then added veg and pasta... Bagged in individual servings and frozen.

Currently have an entire 3 cubic foot freezer full of rich stews and soups, from chicken noodle, to turkey ala king, vegetable beef parley, pork neck stew, bean and ham soup, turkey and wild rice, portugese kale soup in a pork marrow stock/broth.

Then I make all her meals... Each morning I start her out with a 3 egg omelete with fresh veg, ham and a tomato & herb cutney with sour cream on the side!

I'm really going balls out to take care of her, and be an active Father... Some of the in-laws think I'm doing too much for them... But in my mind I'm not just trying to keep a child alive for 18 years and then help pay for some college... I'm trying to raise and create an exceptional being who can one day leave her mark on the world.

Sure at 2 weeks into the parenting experience I'm sure I'm idealizing... But I figure better to tackle the challenge with ideals and goals and passion than to just phone it in like so many parents (Including my own) have done.

We had a minor storm last night starting as rain. It is becoming more mild here. Aside of that thinking of actually going through the whole Spanish Course I have here. I can practice with my Peruvian friends. Gives me less thumb twiddling time which I don't need when I have put a stop to many habits. Also does it make sense to replace one habit with another rather than just halting the habit. I mean a healthy replacement.

My mind when it comes to crossover and behavior adjustment... Is that the end goal is to replace that habit with a good one.

Just like how if you're a prison convict with a week left to go on your sentence before being released you goal is to own your own company and be CEO.

Now when that convict is first released from prison, he doesn't just walk down the street and into his nice CEO corner office... He gets a job washing dishes, because he has to get used to working and living on the outside. Later on he picks up some skills and training... Maybe goes back to school after a few years, and works his way through the process.

Same thing goes with your bad habit.

In the early stages it's really just a matter of "Do whatever it takes to not use the same bad habit."

For everyone that's different... If it's a temporary switch over to another bad habit just to get you by for a little bit... Then I say "In the Short Term" that new bad habit is fine... Within reason...

I mean we're talking about like listening to death metal music or jerking off to internet porn, not going bare back with a transvestite hooker in a bath tub full of dirty needles type of behavior!

THEN start working on the transition.

The end goal is to find a new healthy life style choice that fills that negative void, and accept that there are transitional steps and exploration along the way...

For me I took up abstract painting... I mean I never could paint a Vase and bowl of fruit... But doing abstracts, with strange colors and cool brushes while listening to different music than usual, turned out to be a great way for me to get in touch with my emotional energy, by a means other than logical "Over Analysis."

On the table is writing, language learning, Dancing (Jazz), Tai Chi. Not all of them at once lol. Exploring where to start I am a natural when it comes to dance and movement.

Tai Chi is great... If you're 72 years old and rehabbing a hip replacement.

A martial art might be a good avenue for you to look into.

I've dabbled in Kempo and Tae Kwon Do back in the day... But in the end they were styles that didn't fit my natural strengths.

I'm built like a professional wrestler, and don't do well to flinging myself in the air or doing round house kicks at little guys, when I should just crunch them up into a ball, lean my weight into them and kneel on their throat would be more effective.

There are several martial arts where the physical training is in itself a form of meditation.

Recently psychological testing has actually revealed that intense physical training works more of the whole brain than any other mental stimulation.

So it might be worth using google maps and see what your martial arts options near you are... Worst case scenario, you go in during the Early afternoon (right before kids get off the busses is their best down time) and talk with an instructor for more info.

There is a place near me called Mountain Kung-Fu (5 minute walk). Inb4 I can only get to black belt by snatching a pebble from the teacher's hand

I took Judo, Tae Kwan Do and Karate Do before.

I'm pretty much doing back flips right now.

Two houses just sold in my neighborhood. One is the same sq footage and two years older; sold for 17k more than I paid.
The other is 30 sq feet smaller and a year older. Sold for 19k more than I paid.

I have owned the house for 2 months lol

    HAPPY
That's always a good sign, to see comps in your area going for more than you paid. Especially this time of year, as the majority of house sales are spring, summer and early fall.

However, speaking as someone who did a stint in Real Estate advertising... It could just as equally be that your realtor was only slightly evil, and their realtor(s) were malevolently evil. (All Realtors are Evil, it's just a question of to what degree!)

I did all the realtor work on buying this house and selling the other... Saved $21,500 on this one, saved $2,300 on the other... So grand total savings of $23,800... For 44 hours work... Or $595 an hour!

Another step to get keep an eye on is to look at the comps that are specifically within your realtor's network, and it will give you a good idea of their practices and fees applied to your comps.

Also some counties host websites where you can look up a plot of land and what it has been assessed at for value.

There's one style, started out in Urban Hawaii, that is basically a form of street fighting given a martial arts twist... But for the live of me I can't remember the name.

    LOL...

Yeah I haven't seen a flake up here, just fog and dreary clouds.

But the gulf stream usually isn't strong enough to shoot a storm this far north until March.

Usually we get two whoppers 5-9 days apart.

Definitely some impressive savings you have right there! I always wanted to get my realitors license for ****s and gigs, but I just do not have the time.

The thing that helps me combat the evil is USAA. It's a military back bank or huge military supportive bank. They have a program called "mover advantage program."

It helps you buy and sell. When I called them, they had a pre-screened agent contact me. If I used her to buy my house I get paid for it. After using her I found out she is the best agent in town. I got paid $950 to use her.

When and if I ever decide to sell, you can also use the same program and they pay you much more to use them.

    It's pretty cool.

I am VERY impressed with the Mantis tiller. That little 25cc 4 stroke Honda is a beast in everything including heavy clay soils.

That's awesome that they set you up like that, so you don't have to go into the Satanic Network of finding a realtor.

DAMN do I hate those guys!

I could go on for YEARS complaining about all the stupid and yet evil things I've watched them do.

For the average person they are unfortunately a necessity.

As an industry they've created an overly complicated system that is very hard to navigate on your own.

In my case I spent some time marketing exclusively to realtors, and the media company I worked for was ran by a real estate tycoon who got out of the business a few years before the market crashed... So I had enough of a crash course to talk the talk... And my Mother-in-Law flipped 8 houses in late 90's-early 00's, so any time I wandered too far off the beaten path she could guide me back.

As much as she and I clash like oil and water when it comes to communication style and how we define family values, she and I would make an awesome team buying, flipping and selling houses... I'm sure it would make a great show on HGTV!

Boy I tell ya... I am just having one of those days where I swear everyone is conspiring to have me put a boot up their ass!

I mean really... Every single human being (Except my daughter) that I have interacted with today has been just a total 9 star down right rude ass badger... And they all say "Sorry, but I'm sick, or tired, or have a sprained ankle or whatever."

And it's like it's a blanket excuse card to just treat the world like absolute garbage.

I mean we all get sick, tired, sore, whatever... But if you can't buck up a little and improve your mood on your own, then it doesn't make everyone else responsible for you being an emotional cripple!

This discussion about the evil realtors reminds me of my Father's job (Semi-retired) as a car consultant. He helps people get the exact cars they are looking for and goes to auctions and such. He says women are really taken advantage of because of the assumption by dealers they know nothing about cars. So the dealers go to milk them for all they are worth. Dad gets a lot of calls from women and he gets them a good and reasomnable deal. My Father has always been into cars. That is a cool thing about him. He will buy a used car fix it up, drive it around until he is tired of it and sells for a profit. The only thing he can't do it body work but has lots of connections and gets it done relatively cheap. I remember going to states with him in 1979 and he bought what looked like a mint 1959 Ford Fairlane for $500 and drove it back with me to Canada. My mother drove the other car. We even had an Amphicar with the propellers on the back so we could cross the water if the bridge was down

Damn... I swear I'm gonna plant a steel toed boot in someone's ass before sunset!

Mother in Law is here and baby sitting while I'm down in my office and my wife is asleep.

Baby is at a point where if she cries we come get her immediately, she's just too young still to try any of those self-soothing techniques where you let her cry herself back to sleep.

    Mother in Law disagrees...

Baby started crying she thought she was gonna "Teach us a lesson" and let the baby cry it out.

Once the baby got to the point where she was screaming I could hear her through the floor (My office is directly below her room)... Here she just had a massive dirty diaper, which poured over and ruined her outfit, because she was left to just stew in her own juices.

So I changed her, redressed her, soothed her and prepped a bottle, the whole time my mother in law was standing there saying "I can do that... No I can help... Really."

I took care of everything and put the baby back down... Brought my monitor with this time.

So lets see how she does this time!

Sorry your nerves are on edge Nainoa. A new child is challenge enough but if you add people getting in the way or adding to your stress it would put a Saint to the test. Cool that you get to work at home though

Well luckily the 2+ weeks since she was born have been very slow for me, as far as total man hours on my end. (At the end of a campaign it's just me waiting to hear people's final responses, rather than sending out new proposals etc...)

Pretty soon here I'm going to get CRAZY busy and I'm going to have to have Mother In Law babysit a lot... And she's not the kind of person who has level headed conversations where she listens... She's used to ego bashing people into submission. I'm a communicator 1st, 2nd and 3rd...

But I have personal rule that I will tell you something 3 times... If I have to tell you a 4th time it will cost you something, either money, blood, sweat, tears or pride... And I prefer payment in pride, because it means you didn't respect me the first 3 times I said it.

When you have a kid people talk about how you're amazed at how you can instantly fall so deeply in love with another thing... And that's 110% true... And I love my daughter more and more each day.

But the thing that I'm surprised by in myself is how protective I feel towards.

I mean I feel like I have the deepest bond with her, more than even my wife, who basically feeds her and sleeps... I have all the awake and interaction and gassy and fussy, and everything else time... I read what the baby wants faster than my wife does and have polished routines...

Like I know before changing the diaper to go warm up a bottle, because once she poops she always gets hungry right afterward. I know she likes her changing room at 72 degrees... I've built a total routine to warm up room, warm up bottle, change diaper, re-wrap and feed her.. To the point where she just trusts me... She cries... I pick her up and she stops within seconds... Looks up at me with those cute little blue eyes like "Okay... I know you got this."

And I just go about taking care of everything with little fuss on her part.

Then when someone else watches her and I explain the routine... They just blow me off like I'm some stupid man, who doesn't know anything about babies and they just "Do whatever" they think is best for THEM, while they are taking care of her.

Taking care of a baby, especially my easy going baby, is not that hard, if you just put your own "Wants" second behind her "Needs."

When someone fails to do that... The amount of rage and disdain I feel towards that person is just way stronger than I thought I would feel.

I feel like a Mother Grizzly and if you screw with my cubs I will eat your skull and poop blueberries down your neck hole.

Yeah my Mom drove a beat up old Fairlane when I was kid.
My Dad had a pimped out (For those days) 72 Buick Skylark... I can still remember the V8 rumble of that car!

That's cool that your Dad does stuff like that.

I won an award in college for a major term paper I wrote for a marketing class about how to advertise to women in a persuasive (Invasive) way. Because it's way easier to get women to spend money as an emotional reaction than it is to get men to spend money by logically explaining all the features and benefits.

Women are more prone to talk themselves into seeing a "Want" as a "Need" where as men will try to rationalize turning their needs into something they can put off.

If you tell the "average" woman she's a bad mother if she doesn't buy these magic beans... She is more likely to talk herself into it.

Versus if you tell the "average" man he needs to get a physical every 10 years, he'll put it off to 15 years, or the first time he feels a pain that Ibuprohen just won't relieve.

So far in all I have read and I have a very powerful skill of assessing people. You are a good man. And my intuition (inner teacher) tells me you were reborn in a sense like a phoenix from the ashes represented by your given name of Nainoa. You went through a time of confusion and experimentation and then when you were deep in the pit so to speak or in the dregs you rose up like cream to the surface and got the new name to represent the you that you are now. We are the same in this (SRS). I respect you as a person. I went through hell and back friend. I was full of so much anxiety I could only be self-centered and protective of myself. It was so harsh. But I too was reborn or manifested my higher self. I used to live in my head because I am at genius level in regards to my intellect (SRS). But living in my head got old or stale. I really don't know how to explain this friend. I moved into my heart and it took so many years to do this. I found myself in there. I spent long years following the writings of the Saints and their extraordinary deeds. But interesting enough I found what people consider as the ordinary to be extraordinary. The miracle of birth, a red and purple sunset, the joy of helping others and the learning the proceeds actually being humble. I don't usually share this deeply. But somehow I think you can resonate with me. In the aboriginal tradition I would be know as a 'helper spirit' and I would not have it any other way. If you ever want to pm I am also a 'listener'. I have found the greatest strength in gentleness and the greatest joy in bring joy to the sorrowful. I don't know where my path leads but there I walk and look breathlessly (From Carlos Castaneda books)

    Thanks Bro...

And coincidentally, the Garage Band I started in HS I named "Phoenix."

Because at the end of the day I'm a poor kid, and a beat up piece of meat in search of redemption through personal growth and the living of a good life.

Well... Looks like it's time for me to throttle it back for the weekend...

    Take care guys!
