    Will running hurt my bodybuilding?

I go to a gym about 2.5 mi from my house; would it be a good idea for me to run there, workout for an hour or so, and then run back home?

    Yes.

You need to lift heavy sht and eat good food.

If you do cardio, crunches and curls I will hunt you down and kill you, then feed you to my strong female lifters.
Elite coaching is about getting the last 5% out of a person's performance, personal training is about getting the first 50%.

I don't think so because walking and running are the best ways to lose fat and weight. You have to start it in proper way otherwise it may cause fitness problems.

If your trying to gain muscle NO. You will have to eat the extra 5 miles worth of calories to gain. If your trying to cut, its a good idea. Helps if you tell us your goals.

well most bodybuilders want to lose fat. running helps lose fat. Do the math bro. Running 10 miles every day will probably start to hinder your leg gains because you are working your slow twitch muscles, but jogging or running those 2 miles back and forth is not going to hinder your results man. If anything, you get to eat more 8)

One issue you may have if you run to the gym is that when you're tired your form can suffer and it's much easier to get injured. If you aren't looking to cut weight at all, I recommend adding at least 500 extra calories to your diet.

You can gain muscle and gain fat, or maintain muscle and lose fat. You cannot gain muscle and lose fat at the same time, unless you are overfat (25+% for males) or on steroids. It's possible with some really finicky dietary manipulation which almost no-one will do.

If he wants to gain muscle, he needs to gain fat at the same time, and requires a caloric surplus while lifting heavy sht. A caloric surplus would be consumed by heaps of cardio.

If he wishes to maintain muscle while losing fat, he needs a caloric deficit while lifting heavy sht, which deficit can be achieved by diet, extra cardio or whatever.

WTF did they teach you in your ExSci degree? This is basic stuff.

Do you have other means of transportation? Aerobic exercise will not kill you and will not make you tiny or weak. However, jogging 5 miles each workout will likely be counter-productive to your goals of increasing muscle mass. If you don't have other transportation, a quicker and more efficient way to get there would be a bike. This could be part of you warm-up.

    1) If you are, make sure it is a) not hindering recovery and b) you are in a caloric surplus with positive nitrogen balance.

    2) Try sprints or hill sprints. They may negatively affect your lifts in the first few weeks, but your body will adapt in the long term.

    3) To get the most out of 2) you will have to have a decent aerobic base to help recovery between sets etc.
