    Not Exactly sports training..

So here's the story guys, I'm not exactly training for a sport, but I believe what I am doing is pretty similar. Currently I am training to pass the Alberta Wildfire Crews and I am just wondering what the best approach would be for me, Basically the test revolves around me running with weight ranging from 40-65 lbs (either being carried/dragged/worn on back). What would be the best way to train for this? I am going to pick up a weighted vest as well.

And on a side note, how can I do this while trying to build up strength, some muscle mass, and maintaining my weigh within 10lbs of where I am now?
