    Pasta and Rice measurements

Weren't sure where to post this but it concerns my cutting so posting it here lol.

I weigh everything I eat so I can be accurate on the calories but I'm just wondering, I eat pasta, rice and potatoes etc for carbs. Just wondering, the nutritional info on the packaging of pasta and rice, is it as it stands (before its cooked) or is it after its been cooked?

I wonder because I weigh out say 100g of pasta and after its cooked it weighs 225g, which is obviously over double it's original weight so want to be sure as I could be way out on my calories!!

May sound a daft question but that's why I love these forums, because there's always someone who can advise ya.

    Cheers.

but if you are unsure, check on one of the calorie counting sites (e.g. here is a list http://calorielab.com/foods/rice/21)
and check that the calories are closest to the corresponding raw or cooked entry then you'll know for sure

this. Base it on the raw measurement. 100g rice for example turns into 200g when cooked with stock.
