    Question about calories when cutting

    I'm about to end a bulk and begin cutting. One question, does it matter if I jump right into a deficit or should I got to maintenance first, then cut? Also, has anyone had any luck with cycling calories rather than cutting to a set number each day? I want to make the best of this 7 week cut so I can go back into a bulk.

    I believe my maintenance is about 1950/day, so I was thinking of going down to 1600/day at first. Does this sound like a good starting point?

    There is no adverse effect to just dropping your calories down into your deficit. Some find it easier to gradually drop. Either is acceptable and is a matter of preference.

    This, and 1,600 sounds like a good starting point.
