Lol at the haters itt. This city is the Capitol of the world. It's the home of all the greatest movers and shakers and it where everyone goes to become something. The city, it's culture, it's about the best thriving and the rest packing bags back to whichever ****hole they came from. The ones who hate it are the ones who were too weak for it.

Honestly OP if you want to move here look at places in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. You'll most likely be living in either Queens or Brooklyn. You might want to head to Queens/Brooklyn to get the feel of things.
But yeah, sure you can live in the city if you don't mind living in a box. Or unless you're down to drop a lot for rent.

Its pretty awesome. I was also there this past weekend. It was my first visit to NYC and we stayed the entire in Manhattan and it was amazing. I am from a smaller Canadian city about 200,000, and thought NYC would be awful and dirty and everyone would be mean just like the movies lol We got there and there wasn't any more smell then Toronto, nothing overwhelming. The people were very friendly and helpful, and the city was so beautiful. If it wasn't so far, and if i didnt already have a great job and life i would certainly consider moving lol
NYC was awesome, agreed. You should move there. Especially if you are already american...

lol.. what??? people who live in a city are dependent, whereas people on the countryside or rural area are independent. if an earthquake hits or if there is an ecnomic collapse (which is just around the corner), people who live in a city will riot like a bunch of F'ing pussies, begging for food, water, electricity, and their foodstamps.
take a bunch of Kardashian/beverly hills wannabes or city folks and move them to the rurals. they will be dead in a few hours, since they rely on a supermarket on necessities. bet they cant even start a fire or even hunt for their own food.....

I dont know, NYC has more people which means the chances of finding the PERFECT girl for you goes up dramatically. I went from a smaller city to a smaller town (200k to 50k) and the amount of good looking girls dropped dramatically, as did the places to meet them.
Why do you think in all those small country towns you hear so many stories about marrying their high school sweetheart? Its because after highschool you dont meet anyone new lol I just got back from NYC and i must have seen at least 5 girls different girls each day that i would love to have got to know better and maybe dated if i wasnt on vaca, and in a relationship.
The trick is to go to the big city, get a job, get a girl, and then leave to a smaller town to settle down. NYC would be heaven until you got married though.

Terrible, on the weekends they decide that the subway routes should be all switched up, and they tell no one. It's crowded, expensive, stinks. People are loud as fuk and all douchy.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
