Is NYC the greatest place to live on Earth? Srsly thinking of moving

Just spent the weekend doing NYC/NJ with a few of my buds that live there

- Never seen so many hot girls (outside of a college campus)
- The food was HNNNNNGGGG/10
- People were actually really friendly and funny
- Lots of interesting culture/history, always new places to explore

Manhattan and Brooklyn seemed expensive as fuark, but my buddies live in Jersey City and Hoboken and that seems like the best of both worlds with good access, good neighborhoods and low rents. Any brahs live in the area and got advice?

my buddy just got a job in NYC and is living in brooklyn, he lucked out finding a two story apt. with 3 residents looking for another roommate. he's paying around 1k a month per rent i think which is not bad at all for that area. the apartment is really nice as well.

however, a guy got shot outside the apt. a few days after he moved in : /

For a few years if you're young yes. But otherwise, it's too expensive and busy for my taste. Plus I don't think it's a good environment to raise a family with strong values.

op i lived in ny for years and its a horrible place to live...live in nj or something and go to ny if u want to for clubs, restaurants, etc

You need some serious cash if you want to live in Manhattan, and Brooklyn is getting up there too.

I live on Long Island myself, border of Queens (20 min train ride to Manhattan). I'd recommend living outside of Manhattan and Brooklyn in less you landed a great job here.

I'm from there, moved to CA recently. People in NYC are generally stuck up & in a hurry. Good luck making friends. It's also expensive as fuaarrkk. But yeah, if you already have a circle of friends, endless chit to do.
I'd prefer CA though

Its buiriful. lol at people saying its too expensive, you can get an apartment in Harlem/the heights for cheap and take a train for $2 and be in the heart of the city in less then half an hour. Most of the food is as cheap as any place in the country(pizza/Chinese/hotdogs/etc.) The only problem is traffic and parking but you can remedy that by taking the train which is actually pretty relaxing contrary to what most believe.

You can do anything you want in NYC, so basically any hobby you have you can find huge meeting grounds to meet other people who like the same things. I mean the entire point of a city like NYC is to be social, hence why Manhattan is flooding with them sloots all the time.
