I would say the first step if being able to do a couple pullups.
Doing a muscle up is not just strength but technique.
First snap your lower body to build momentum then
Swing your chest as high over the bar as you can and lean forward
If you get your chest on top of the bar the easy part is push up up from a dip position
congratulations you did a muscle up...

Generally people who do muscle ups have strong upper bodies, no legs, and are skinny. For example gymnasts and all those bar starz, etc *******s. Muscle ups don't really serve a purpose except people trying to look cool at the gym
