I'm starting this thread just so I can track my workouts and see if progress is being made over time. My main goal is to increase strength and add weight (not from fat).
I took a long break from working out religiously. I used to train pretty hard about 4 days a week during high school, but since than, with college, I haven't really trained or followed any lifting program. Just trying to get back on track, set some goals, and hopefully accomplish them.
My last workout was yesterday and it just a basic bench day.
Barbell Bench (weight in pounds) 2 min rest between sets
Warmup
45X10
95X10
115X5
135X5
155X5
185X5
195X5
CG Bench with one board: 2 min rest between sets
165X5 (4 sets)
Wide Grip Bench (45 sec. rest) I like to throw these into the mix at the end of the heavier sets to get a pump
115X12 (3 sets)
Standing front delt raises (used an EZ curl bar with some 10's on each side)
~31lbs X 10 (3 sets)
First workout of the new year. Felt extremely tired throughout most of the lifts. Overall I'd say it was mediocre at best. At this point, I am just glad to get back into lifting and not so worried about lifting heavy weight.
BW before workout: 172lbs
Deadlifts (Conventional W/ Mixed grip with straps on the last sets): Long rest periods, around 2 minutes between sets.
