    Lower abs exercise that won't hurt back

    I have an old football injury that causes pain when doing lower ab exercises like leg lifts. Is there anyway to work the lower abs without tightening the muscles of the back?

    You could try limited range of motion movements like lying or hanging leg raises, just go up to the point you feel pain.

    For the most part though any exercises that work the upper abs will work the lower abs as well.
    Squat: 202.5kg | 446lbs
    Bench: 125kg | 275lbs
    Deadlift: 235kg | 518lbs
