I'm a Navy Senior Chief (E-8), with 20+ years as an Electronics Technician. Most of my career has been in submarines, but I also had a tour working with Marines in joint duty.

just did my prt, 20-24 group, 100 sit ups, 89 pushups, figured those are both 'outstanding'

for my weigh in I rang in at 179, just happened to finish the bike and burn 179 calories in the 12 minutes. Anyone know how to calculate or equate that over to a run time? My CFL told me not to worry about my score but I'm curious as to what it equates to.

If you can log into PRIMS (via BOL), click "Help" on the menu bar for Bike/Elliptical calculator (to convert bike calories into run time), then Practice PFA Results, Physical Readiness Results tab and enter all your data.

Disclaimer: I can't access the PRIMS site from home, so these unofficial answers are from my iPhone app:
Bike: 179 calories (awesome result, by the way) at 179 lbs = 10:22 run time

Age 20-24, 100 situps= Outstanding (90 points)
89 pushups= Max (100 points)
10:22 run= Excellent (75 points)
Overall = Excellent

Note: 105 situps would have hit Max for that category, and an overall Outstanding

lol you can use it after you get out. you get to spend the first 12 months paying for it.

in the mean time use tuition assistance. you wont be doing a shiet ton in your regular job anyway

Absolutely appropriate. But since I joined 21 years ago, hopefully one of the newer guys can chime in...

Cliffs: Lots of paperwork, lots of waiting, follow the rules & do what you're told. Then have fun wherever you get assigned.

AZ is a laid back type of job? Awesome! I plan on trying to become a pilot or atleast an officer wish me luck guise! I get shipped out march 13th

It can be. You'll be responsible for maintaining records of aircraft maintenance in a database called NALCOMIS. When that crashes youre going to hate life and do everything on paper. But all in all, a pretty good job if you like "admin" type jobs.

Gotta get in better running shape for OCS, though. Passed the PRT but the run is my worst....hate it but must do it.

Put a ton of effort into PT before you leave - that's one of the first (and ongoing) things they can judge you on. Remember, it's "Officer Candidate School". Don't give them a reason to get rid of you.
